NOTE: Dropped the weather part on title since it is usually fine when I post it and my posts are not about my daily life so it will not affect the post in anyway. This is what happens with Beta stuff.

A particular message I received on MSN.

Someone high ranking says:

Someone high ranking says:

Someone high ranking says:

#2 - 30/5 - Tuesday - Fine Weather (BETA)
Tuesday, May 30, 2006
A young man once asked God how long a million years was to Him. God replies, "A million years to Me is just like a single second in your time."
Then the young man asks God what a million dollars was to Him. God replies, " A million dollars to me is just like a single penny to you."
So the young man gets his courage up and asks, "God, could I have one of your pennies?"
Replies God: "Certainly, just a second."

30/5 - Tuesday - Fine Weather (BETA)
now it looks like the header for MSN 8 Beta and Windows Live Mail Beta. what a "great" suggestion.
I think I should shorten all my posts and make them easier to read. since life of any teenager is dead boring, might as well shorten the suffering.

it is that time of the month again.
really, even guys experience this too.
it is getting on my nerves and is extremely irritating.
but I am lazy.
...
...
now you dirty minded people must be wondering how does that time of the month have to do with being lazy. it doesnt really require uhh...lots of work.
actually I meant it is time for a haircut. yes, I cut my hair only once a month. a trip to the barber shop at the market seem really far.
but it is not I do not want to cut, I have remedials daily and I do not want to go out again after that.
but I decided to cut it by this week before I start pulling my hair off and become bald instead. the thought is enough to motivate me I guess.
==
this is a personal note cum rant. skip it if you want to.
teachers know no mercy, especially if they used to teach JC and once a probation officer. I have remedials daily till end next week.
29/5 - Maths (9-12), English (2-4)
30/5 - English (1.30-3)
31/5 - Chinese (8-9), Biology (9.30-11.30), English (12.30-2)
1/6 - English (12.30-2.30)
2/6 - Maths (9-12)
5/6 - English (11.30-1)
6/6 - Maths (9-12)
7/6 - PE (8.00), English (9.30-11), Dental Checkup (10.30)
8/6 - English (11.30-1)
I love my teachers. do you? you better do before they give you more remedial... I mean supplementry.

Sony Ericsson Service Centre @ Accord Distri Centre
I visited the Accord Customer Care Solutions (ACCS) SESC for the second time ever since I bought the phone. First for the memory stick, now for the camera and firmware.
the centre staff did not know is I broke the cable. hope that technician will replace it despite knowing it is the user's fault (hopefully for free also =D)
as for firmware, after flashing back to K750i, I realised to my horror the languages available are not the typical asian languages! something that is somewhat user's fault also =X
on the form it is also recorded there is damage on the case of the phone even though I did not mention it. maybe they will change that for me as well =D=D
so all these and I can collect my phone only after 2pm on June 1 (2006, not next year). in the meantime they lent me some crap SE phone which I have to pay S$100 if I damage it. might as well use my 3120 instead.
they havent talked about money yet. it is either they are not charging me or they are leaving the shock for later. as they say, 谈钱伤感情. what if it is gonna cost me S$200 or something?
then on my way back, I became SBS Transit's god of fortune for forgetting to tap my card out when I alight from 502. S$2.25 gone just like that.
still have remedial later at 1.30pm. sian.

Meet The Parents Session 2006
Saturday, May 27, 2006
POSTNOTE: percentage should be 56.3% instead of 56.9%. it is not my fault actually. a little bird came by and poo-pooed on the percentage and I didnt not clean it up properly. only after I used thinner did I realise my mistake.
went to school this morning for MPS. only managed to meet the Mdm Soh at 11.45am despite appointment at 11am as some of the parents talked for too long.
they talked about chemistry and maths (three subjects I failed), behaviour in school and home, ExCEL fair, nTRiX, motherhood problems, guys not reporting to parents, bad husbands and everything else.
my mother say she feels she is more homely with this teacher. seeing what they talked, obviously.
and my parents say Mdm Soh look really young. my mother even said she cant be much older than 21 (she is 22). shows older people eyes bio more yandaos and chiobus than us, so can tell the age easily.
my results seems okay, and I did fail 3 subjects. Chemistry, A Maths and E Maths. they are the subjects which require most application, which I am really bad in. need more practice in these subjects I guess.
this time round I will make sure I can pass all my exams at least. so many underlines aint exactly very glorifying. they looked horrifying rather.
level position is 61, class position 9, 56.3% and L1R5 is 26. this is what most of you competitve people wanted to look for any way. so I wrote it all out. happy now? now I think all of you will go away anyway so I end here.

McDonalds's Pepper Drumlets EVM
Friday, May 26, 2006
I went to try McDonalds's Pepper Drumlets EVM today. you know the one with the advertisement of people doing kallang waves started by that steven lim lookalike? yes that is the one.
the pepper drumlets contains much more meat compared to McWings, which is only suitable for those who want to gain lots of fat while still feeling hungry. contrary to its name, it is relatively unspicy actually.
however, the curly fries that came with the meal is bad. it seemed they had to coat the fries with something to make them curl.
unfortunately, that something they added made the fries totally lose the crispiness McDonalds fries are known for. in addition, it made the fries relatively tasteless other than the odd taste of chemicals.
not that fast food is not already full of chemicals, but the best they can do to sell these overpriced chemicals is to make them taste good right? just like Big Breakfast with 1200mg of Sodium, way above the Recommended Daily Intake.
anyway, back to the curly fries. I just remembered one thing, it tasted slightly like onion rings from A&W, but it is so light that it may well be the extra oil sucked up to make it so droopy.
the green tea tastes exactly like canned Heaven & Earth Green Tea you can buy outside. duh. except it is much cheaper outside. you can buy a 350ml can of it at 60 cents at Valudollar.
so well, just avoid the curly fries. maybe it is because of the branch (McDonalds Jurong Spring CC), but I do not feel like buying those curly fries ever again.
as a famous quote said "The First Time is the most memorable".

CSS Annual Cross Country Meet 2006
there will be no pictures since all valuables are kept in a big bag right after attendance taking and it is way too dark to take any picture of the journey there (6.50am or so).
met wei lei at the bus stop opposite my house. ying sheng decided to join us as he thought paying for a cab by himself is too expensive. he arrived earlier than expected at 6am though.
the journey is really boring and so is the run actually. though they have improved administration since the meet ended within three or so hours compared to five hours last year.
I didnt get any award. if I started closer to the starting point maybe I could have got the high 30s. should have just 跑“屁股”together with shixu and zhepeng.
the school also made money out of people's misery by selling overpriced 100 Plus and mineral water at $1.50 (not rupees leh! singapore dollahs ok!) instead of providing a Milo truck.
nothing else interesting happened other than ying sheng (ACCIDENTALLY ONLY OK!) molested a girl along the run. cannot blame him, 人家长大了mah. in fact, his hair is not as soft as before already =(
wait, I cant gossip about others, but perfectly nothing happened to me leh, except maybe the mob of 2/3'05 girls somewhere within the forest caused me to trip hexun (ACCIDENTALLY ONLY ALSO OK!) as I tried to escape their wrath of screaming and singing Baa Baa Black Sheep.
I strongly believe that the reason I failed to get Top 40 must be somehow related to their curse of wool-less Black Sheep that gave a third of the black fur to the farmer, a third to the mane and the final third to the little boy who lives down the lane.
shortest field report ever written. you all must congratulate me or something.

Spirited Away 神隐少女
Sunday, May 21, 2006
after buying 25 pieces DVD+R at 27.90, I went to Lot 1 and saw two video shops side by side, namely TS Video and Laserflair. this reminded me that I wanted to buy Spirited Away since it will take me a long long time if I were to ever read that 5 book manga page by page.
at Laserflair, I saw Code 1 (America) release from Buena Vista. loads of extra stuff, but 44.90. I also saw Code 3 (Asia Pacific, most probably Taiwan) release at 24.90 with lesser extra stuff.
being the cheapskate I am , since I thought they wont make much of a difference, I bought the Code 3 one.
the Disc 2 seems crap. it contains a 20+ minutes of Making of Spirited Away, which is your standard movie making of stuff like interviews with director and some interesting facts about te movie.
the other thing inside Disc 2 is the storyboard version of the animation, which is basically crap that is added to make me think it is worth it and cheat my money which are storyboard drawings of the exact same movie in Disc 1. watched like 5 minutes in 5x speed and I know that already.
Disc 1, the actual movie, about 124 minutes is in relatively good quality though. after watching, I cannot get out of the mood of the show and I probably had to watch it tomorrow again since I am extremely bugged by the fact that I did not understand parts of the show.
that aside, this movie is really good. thanks to yik yie for introducing this to me. the leading female, Chihiro (千寻)is really cute (10 year old only mah) and overall character designs are quite interesting. maybe I should go get Totoro that is produced by the same studio as well. that oversized cat in totoro also very cute.
now I must think of how I could get back to sleep. cant get out of the mood of the story. sian.

MYE2006: Results Post Mortem
Friday, May 19, 2006
all the results except CME have now made their way back to me. note that this post mortem is based on Mid-Year Examinations results only and does not reflect the entirety of the performance in semester one.
results are arranged by the order which they were taken during the Mid Year Examination period and not by performance in those subjects.
English
dropped one grade from a low B4 to a low C5. it is not a bad score this time round since I almost went off topic in my composition. but still it is pretty disappointing since I wanted to improve, not the other way round, especially when I want languages to be my stronger points.
Geography
it is a low B4. quite a sharp plunge I would say. Structured Essays were quite a disappointment. excepted much more from them. guess I became too paranoid with the long holiday before Geography MYE began.
Additional Mathematics
by far the lowest score in this entire exam with a high F9 (meaning near 30 marks). somewhat expected since I skipped Indices, Surds and Logarithms questions completely.
somehow, the failure is worse than what I had expected. but seeing so many failing like me is quite a consolation after all.
Combined Humanities
maybe a bit lower than what I had came to expect. it is a C5 which from what I heard is not bad given the school standard. my Term 1 will pull me down unfortunately.
I think I could have done better if I remembered to read through Source Based Questions notes before Social Studies.
Chinese
it just nice managed to hit A1 (75 lah). sounds high, but compared to some others in the same chinese class, it is not exactly really that high.
since I want languages to be my one of my forte, I will strive to improve in this subject that I did rather well in ever since Primary School.
Chemistry
the paper is actually slightly challenging for the level despite what teachers claimed as the cohort did not perform for this paper.
but even not performing should not be a fail right. I hoped to at least get a C, but I got an E8 (40-45) instead. it falling on the same day as E Maths might have affected my revision somewhat as well.
Elementary Mathematics
hoped to at least pass this one. but I missed it by a few marks, resulting in a D7. the pain is numbed though, since Additional Mathematics was given out on the same day.
I hoped to at least do well in Elementary Mathematics, so I will really make sure I do not make that hell many of careless mistakes in Paper 1 again.
Biology
another paper I did rather well in. got another A1 in this, albeit not a high one. I am equally surprised myself when I saw the score.
guess it is luck for this paper, whatever I am good at came out and what I am not good at didnt. that is the only reason for such splendid performance this time round.
Overall
if I had made more effort to concentrate more on revision during that period of time, I am sure I could have did better.
in addition, if there is not so much goddamn drilling all around, I would have been able to concerntrate better.
but exams are always full of ifs, so I think there is no point droning on something that had past. another mortem will come your way next Saturday for the entire Semester 1.

ROB©: Latest MrBrown Show (browncast)
Tuesday, May 16, 2006
the latest browncast is really funny. it is a spoof of the Visa advertisement you see all the time at Golden Village cinemas.
it is the one where the girl wanna free 5 birds but not enough money so this white hair angmoh use Visa card to buy 10000 birds and free them.
there is also one rather humourous dialogue in hokkien in the centre concerning... blue birds. (it is really BLUE birds and not whatever else you thought it is you dirty minded fella!)
in case there are some lazybums here who cannot even click on a link, I had hyperlinked it right here. a 1.4MB download. even 56k also wont take more than 10 minutes!

UPDATE: Tuesday
since I am posting at 3.20pm on the tuesday of the school holiday, I am obviously not at the 2/3 class outing. also I cant be doing that chemistry exercise because that AskNLearn server cannot handle the load and is slow like cold molasses.
the doctor told me not to go for the outing because I just recovered from the high fever (which was caused by the sore throat -.-") and my parents said the same thing as well.
yet they have no qualms about letting me visit the area near the new CSS building provided I join them for breakfast later. that is when I got another two days of MC when I go doctor again because the sore throat got worse.
for your information, I decided to drop by the new building to see how long I would take to reach the new school. it is about another 10 minutes for the ride on 176 from opposite school and the frequency of arrivals is quick at 5 minutes.
so I went to that particular stretch of West Coast Road, walked about Pandan Resevoir, took a few pictures and breathed in some fresh morning air before meeting them at the kindergarten at 8am or so.
I took pictures, but the pictures were inside the phone memory inside due to my own blunder and I am too lazy to get that data cable out to transfer things over. so later lah hor =)
this is about the only interesting thing I did for the entire day. from 11am till now I had been watching Chobits all the way till the end. the ending also very touching one, like DN Angel liddat. but then Chobits dont have kiss one, not like DN Angel.
yeah lor, so this is my super-exciting-jaw-droppingingly-electrifyingly-awe-inspiring-great school holiday. shall find out whether got strip poker during the class outing later when everyone gets back.

CME MYE and MYE Scores Tally
Monday, May 15, 2006
CME exam is today. but because of my sore throat that eventually led to a fever (that is currently under control with Paracetamol) and the rather packed schedule of the weekends, I did not prepare for it anyway.
rushed through a few pages today before the exam began. luckily I somewhat knew about the festivals for no reason and the various sections are slightly challenging but manageable. pass is no problem.
==
other than the CME exam, we also got back some of the scores. instead of reviewing them right now, I will do it together when all the results are released so I do not have to look through tens of pages when I am reading my posts next time.

MYE2006: The End of War
Thursday, May 11, 2006
I have just signed a treaty of versallies with Semestral Examinations and have agreed not to challenge each other for a period of 5 months.
biology is relatively simple. simpler than what I had expected. maybe because it is the last day and I gave in my all for the paper.
chinese oral is relatively smooth too, other than the stammering in the conversation part. should have costed me quite some marks.
I decided against a post-mortem as I had already reflected on all my papers and they had more or less covered whatever I felt about these tests.
other than that, chun kit and I celebrated the end of the examinations by going to Sim Lim Square and HarbourFront Centre. no this is not another colin and kero, but because of a trip of buying turned into one of pointless wandering.
I took some pictures at HarbourFront Centre, together with Singapore Cruise Centre and Telok Blangah Cable Car Complex. they will be up tomorrow.
biology is relatively simple. simpler than what I had expected. maybe because it is the last day and I gave in my all for the paper.

MYE2006: Beebee to EM P1 and Hihi to Bio & Oral
Wednesday, May 10, 2006
another paper passed. again I left some questions out because I cannot solve them. seems my maths really ranks among the lowest in the class. cant be helped I guess.
tomorrow is Biology. the one with loads of stuff to remember. I had finished two chapters so far and I will need to finish six of them by end of today. really gotta rush.
chinese oral is tomorrow too. as I mentioned before, since there is no picture conversation, it should be a breeze. provided I have enough of the conversation topic to talk about.
tomorrow will be the post mortem for this round of Mid Year Examinations. where I will probably whine about not putting in enough effort and miscellaneous stuff.

I am doing blog surfing while taking a break from biology. and I know tomorrow is E Maths Paper 1. I am just reading up on Biology first so I dont die tomorrow remembering all 6 chapters at once.
anyway yeah, I read all the blogs I always read, then started clicking on links on Wei Yuan's blog. one of them is a link to a particular Pamela of TKGS.
now compare it to the Pamela that all of us know. you know, the one whose photo appeared on Ying Sheng's blog.
see the similarity? if you dont, please go to your nearest optician and get an eye check. I think your degree must have risen by at least 250 or so.
so this is a Random Outburst Of Bullshit © brought to you by deskoh91. enjoy.
P.S. I can collect advertising charges from 4 persons for this post I guess.

Chemistry and Elementary Mathematics is over now too. that means it is 3 days to the light at the end of the tunnel for 3/1, 3/2 and 3/5.
all classes except 3/5 are slogging for tomorrow's physics now while I am typing this post. we are such a fortunate bunch.
==
Chemistry paper is pretty easy at first, but it gets harder with every passing question and section. and I did not realise Sulphide is Sulphur which resulted in me losing 4 marks because I cannot figure out how to draw SO3.
passing should be know problem, just how well I pass. hopefully can be at least 60. the most I want to fail is 2 subjects...
==
E Maths Paper 2 is actually rather simple also, but because I failed to study everything thoroughly and did not actually refresh my memory at the last moments before the paper which resulted in me being unable to do quite some questions.
I am really disappointed with myself for this though. I thought E Maths was easy, but I guess I underestimated it and did not put in enough effort.
since paper 2 is so simple, paper 1 has got to be some hard shit from outer space. and I actually failed to get the marks for Paper 2!
==
Paper 1 will be two days later. I will read through the exam papers and five year series this time round to see what will be appearing and not be as unprepared as Paper 2.

SG ELECTION 06: Sian, PAP get 82 seats again
Sunday, May 07, 2006
if you are watching their special programme, you would have realised that results of all the polls had been released.
to sum things up:
PAP get 82 seats (Any MP you can think of would do)
WP gets 1 seat (Low Thia Khiang's Hougang with 62.74%)
SDA gets 1 seat (Chiam See Tong's Potong Pasir with 55.84%)
SDP gets none
total votes for PAP dropped from 75.3% in 2001 to 66.6% in 2006.
Aljunied GRC is won by the PAP team led by Foreign Minister George Yeo with a measely 56.08%. the lowest percentage win by PAP.
because WP got 43.92% of the votes in Aljunied, it is likely Sylvia Lim will become a Non-Constituency MP.
PAP's best win is at Sembawang GRC, the biggest GRC in Singapore with 172164 voters, led by Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan, with 76.70% of the votes.
I updated faster than Ying Sheng. Boo to Ying Sheng.

BLOG: Regular Links Refresh
Saturday, May 06, 2006
cleared away the links to dead blogs and added in new ones. this time round, I added in more active 3/5'06 bloggers into the list.
if you are removed from the friends list, it is not because you are not my friend any more but rather you have not been updating your blog regularly.
a blogskin refresh is due soon too. most probably I will do something about it within the two weeks after exams and before Term 2 ends.
this is because PAP keep saying Lift Upgrading mah, then now finally it is my estate's turn to upgrade that two slow lifts that dont stop on every level. so to thank the PAP, I will give my "estate" Repairs and Redecoration because opposition cannot use government money (tsk...Chiam See Tong).

chinese is over too. and now I can take a break before continuing revision for the two exams right after this weekend ends.
I did not do too badly for this paper either. only thing is I am afraid I might have written too little in some parts of the comprehension.
the topics set seem rather argumentative-ish. I went with the one regarding conflicts between neighbours since I happened to read an essay about it in the morning while preparing for the paper.
I didnt really study much for chinese. so goodbye to err... 私函, 公函, 作文, 综合填空, 理解测验 and 理解问答.
==
the extremely tiring week of exams is now over. there are still 3 written exams left for next week and a chinese oral examination.
Chemistry and Elementary Mathematics Paper 2 on Monday, followed by Elementary Mathematics Paper 1 on Wednesday and finally Biology and Chinese Oral on Friday.
this split of E Maths papers into two resulted in me having to study twice for the papers I guess. and this makes Tuesday a very confusing one as well since I dont know whether I should study for EM Paper 1 or Biology.
honestly my Biology and Chemistry is not all that good either. hope the papers will not be too difficult.
the decision of putting Elementary Mathematics papers on two different days is still beyond me. it only makes you more nervous and you study twice for the same thing.
they could have put E Maths Paper 1 and 2 on Monday, Physics on Tuesday, Chemistry on Wednesday and Biology and Economics on Thursday without any problems. strange.
as for Chinese Oral, it is technically the second last subject (CME is next next Monday) but you cannot study for Oral Examinations, plus Chinese Oral do not have pictures, so I am not really worrying much here.
good luck to all! we had passed the halfway mark. now all we need to do is finish it off!

MYE2006: CH (SS/Hist) down, Chinese up next!

Combined Humanities (Social Studies & History Elective) MYE2006 paper is over today.
because I failed to revise the Source-Based Questions notes before starting Social Studies exam, I lost some marks in that particular section. hopefully it would not cause too much damage.
other than that, I am really lucky. the questions for Structured Essay Questions are about what I studied.
Social Studies has two questions. one being the impact of the failure to establish Common Market in Malaysia and how Foreign Investments are affected by the Sri Lanka racial conflict. I took the Malaysia one as I am more confident with that.
History has two too. one on reasons that led to the successful rise of Bolsheviks in October Revolution and the other on the effectiveness of League of Nations. I took League of Nations since it is a chapter that I knew clearly due to its length.
(hopefully) I will not fail the Structured Essay section.
goodbye to Tsar, Northern Expedition, Manchu Government and Treaty of Versallies for History and Malayan Union, Protestants and Catholics, and fights over water, fishes, communism and capitalism and territorial boundaries for Social Studies!
==
chinese is coming up next. I am only informed that composition now only contains Argumentative Essays and News Articles Reviews, a new section introduced due to the revised Mother Tongue curicculum.
I guess I need to spend some time understanding how could I answer to such a question. a big thank you to metinee for informing and telling me how to go about writing essays for News Articles Reviews!
this News Articles Reviews thing make me feel pressurised once again. just when I thought I can take a small break. zzz.
my letter writing formats are more or less done as well. so I do not have to worry about them much.
gambete for your papers tomorrow!

MYE2006: End of Add Maths, CH (SS/Hist) next
Wednesday, May 03, 2006
the supposedly worst exam is finally over. I am somewhat glad. soon I can let my brain take some rest before I continue studying for the final few exams.
A Maths is as expected rather badly done. I did not really feel anything about it so I guess I am used to it already.
now it is goodbye to Logarithms, Linear Law and Discriminants!
tomorrow is combined humanities. there would have been hell a lot to study if not for the hints given, which offset a small part of whatever we have to study.
but no one seems to know what hints she dropped for Social Studies! now I must hunt down someone for the hints.
good luck to all having exams again!

RANT: 渴望

again, I read this off another blog and found it very meaningful so I dropped it here. I must really thank that poster next time for giving me so much inspiration.
describes my feelings well.

MYE2006: After Geography, On to Additonal Maths
NOTE: If you noticed, all my Mid-Year Exams post are labelled MYE2006 so that all my posts during exam period do not look like random rants.
Geography is over. and I think I did not do too badly.
the paper is really easier than expected, no mapwork at all. this had got to be the wet dream of all Pure Geography students. such papers would not appear again.
alas, I did not study the final two chapters too well. the questions in Q1 of SEQ are way too challenging, especially since my knowledge about tropical storms are weak.
in addition, I did not study too detailed into plate tectonics and weathering well, so I think I lost some critical marks over there.
other than that, it is to hell with regolith, caldera, convectional rain, elm trees and Marianne Chong's bottom! ... till End of Year Exams.
==
tomorrow is Additional Mathematics. one of my lousiest subjects together with Elementary Mathematics.
it is already said this Additional Maths paper is a total killer, with Mr Leong and Margaret Loh setting, if you can survive this you can survive any kind of Maths.
unfortunately my maths sucked from P4 till now. so I will die anyway. it is just how much blood. I am used to failing maths papers so it is alright.
good luck.

MYE2006: Taking a break from Geography
Monday, May 01, 2006
POSTNOTE: If you noticed, all my Mid-Year Exams post are labelled MYE2006 so that all my posts during exam period do not look like random rants.
after studying the guidebook so much yesterday and today, I am sure I now know Marianne Chong's "bottom" very well (A quote from I Not Stupid).
because I mindlessly slacked my friday and saturday away, thinking I have loads of time to finish, I still have Weathering and Plate Tectonics left.
the only thing I am worried about now is whether whatever I just studied will stay inside till tomorrow. really hope that I would. I do not want to fail Geography for it is about the easiest subject to pass after English (which I did not do too well) and Chinese.
I am now blogging a bit because when you study like this, you somewhat feel a sense of emptiness, especially when no one is around and here I am mugging for the second of the numerous exams. thinking about this makes you feel stressed. that is why you see that I am always online on MSN, so that I dont feel so alone.
hope to rest till 2pm or so and continue. hopefully I can finish everything.
