Extremely exciting Photolog coming your way!

Wednesday, March 29, 2006

yes I currently have hell a lot of pictures on my hands now. I admit I did not take most of them. you will see hell a lot of faces on the photolog, including mine!

ever since the inception of this blog my face had not even appeared even once. because everytime I smile my mouth not straight because my left cheek muscle is not as flexible as my right cheek one.

since I have got 410MB worth of pictures off the MSPD in the digital camera of someone's, I will find one and put it up.

and hell a lot of camwhor... I mean "Zi Lian" pictures from the girls. in fact you will know who is the owner of the camera really easily after that.

the photolog may only arrive well into the weekends. there are loads to sort. I got loads of shots of the durian if it matters.

the amount of girls appearing on the upcoming photolog will hopefully increase my viewership. yay.

so yeah stay tuned and get the tissues ready. (so cheesy...)

MXE-60 Flash Add-on's Big Day!

Monday, March 27, 2006

tomorrow is the big day of my MXE-60 flash add-on for my Sony Ericsson K750i!

finally I had some practical use for it. now I can take nice nice pictures of the theatre while praying hard the ushers or the management would not come after me.

I can also take pictures of people wearing formal costumes. like got some people first time wear skirt must take picture =)

but before the big day comes, lets take a look at the little thingy.

the front and back views respectively.

and now a comparison between the various lightings.

well, no lighting with night mode on. since it is totally dark you dont expect it to do much do you? the green spot is the light of the CPU LED.

now with the built-in light of the phone. it is sufficient for short distances but falters in distances more than 3 foot or so away.

and now with MXE-60! much clearer right?

Singapore's "Jerk It Out" of Caesars Palace

Sunday, March 26, 2006

some guy from singapore made some parody music video out of the song Jerk It Out by Caesars Palace. really comical. the loading time shouldnt take too long so dont worry.

no jokes this time. the video isnt anything pornographic. just plain clean humour. find out more about the guy in the video at retardism.com

Visit to SGH and Jurong 5 Year Town Renewal

as my grandma went to hospital due to an infection while undergoing peritoneal dialysis. so my parents and I decided to pay her a visit together with my aunt.

she is admitted to Singapore General Hospital. so we decided to take the shuttle bus from Outram Park MRT Station that will take us there.

alighted at the entrance to Singapore General Hospital Blocks 2 and 3.

Block 1 is the Accident & Emergency block so of course you cannot alight there. Block 2 and 3 is the Outpatient Specialist Clinics. so it is one of the more prominent blocks of SGH.

Singapore General Hospital has a lot of specialised doctors in almost every aspect of healthcare, making it one of the largest hospitals in Singapore with 8 blocks.

and thus I began my journey to Block 6 where my grandma is. by the way, all the SGH blocks are joined by walkways and signs are everywhere so it is not so easy to get lost.

along the way, I saw...

hopefully no one has to visit the Center of Assisted REproduction (CARE) centre.

and I walked on and on and on...

to the left now...

the food court in between Block 5 and 6. the food is blander than what you find normally. guess it is because it is an hospital. it is also where we had breakfast. (we arrived there at about 9am).

interesting structure just beside the food court. the water looks horribly dirty and whitish though.

finally!

I am not allowed to use the phone in the wards as instructed by the nurses. plus it is my grandma anyway so I guess it does not concern you all. fast forward to the trip back...

my parents went off at about 10+ but I left only at about 12+ as I still have to go my grandma house to perform some maintanence on my uncle's computer.

thank you and have a nice day!

cannot board the first shuttle bus as it is full. the bus passed by National Cancer Centre before reaching Outram Park and I took the MRT to Jurong East where I saw this...

(taken at 2.5x zoom)

it is the completion of the 5 years town renewal program in areas managed by Jurong Town Council. I dont live within that constituency so I did not really care.

look at the amount of people there!

our education minister, mr tharman. he is really tall, probably as tall as bryan. I am not trying to be racist here but one of the reasons making him look so dark.

in case you are interested, Singapore General Hospital is managed by SingHealth. (me and my obsession with large companies managing small companies...)

Trip to new Jurong West Community Library

in case you all do not know, the Jurong West Community Library had shifted from occupying the entire L4 of Jurong Point to the newly built building opposite Boon Lay Bus Interchange.

the building was shared with Pioneer Community Club and is three levels high. the entire building is fully airconditioned. the library occupied the right half of the three levels of the building.

I visited it two days ago and took pictures yet again. I must have gotten addicted to photo snapping.

it is also during this time that I finally realised one thing. as long as you are not focusing on just one person, no one will bother that you are snapping crazily away. or maybe it is just that I managed to take pictures without anyone knowing better now . hehe.

the library had just shifted there since March 10 this year. and I have to say it looks really different from what it used to be. not as big as Jurong Regional Library (5 levels occupying a building slightly larger than JW Community Library) but I would compare it to the Woodlands Regional Library.

the sibling sharing the building with the library. Pioneer Community Club.

the building from the outside.

the library tag. 2.5x zoom.

opening hours and level directory.

this is the level 1 entrance. the ballons are probably there since its opening ceremony is only about two weeks ago.

there is nothing too interesting in level 1. it is the "lifestyle" section of the library. lots of newspapers and magazines and computers.

they are now using the new borrowing system as well.

one of the difference between JW Community Library and the Regional Libraries. there are no escalators. you climb up the open stairs which is right in front of you when you enter the building.

this interesting structure is just beside you as you climb the stairs.

Level 2 is the children section.

even though it is the children section, you find young adults hanging around here as well.

including a group who are sitting on the children chairs, maybe trying to spoil them.

Yamaha Music School is located on level 2 as well.

and now onto level 3!

the adults and young adults section of Jurong West Community Library can not match the VAT (VergingAllTeens) or the young adults area at Level 4 of Jurong Regional Library.

it is much quieter there. there are only tables and chairs everywhere. and the entire decor seems more formal than one designed for youngsters at JRL. the librarians there are rather strict too.

still, loads of people visit that place. the four pictures are taken at various zooms so they wont notice I am taking their pictures. sneaky.

here is the Cybrian machine of theirs. didnt exactly try it but I guess it is like a digital librian (duh). if you look hard enough you might see my reflection.

whoops! I am spotted!

and finally, their entrance on levels 2 and 3 are a major complaint. being only wide enough to fit one person, during peak hours, you may end up waiting for a while before you can go in.

in conclusion, the new Jurong West Regional Library is much larger than some of the Community Libraries you can find around, and actually a very nice place for reading and studying as the entire ambience is cooling and classy.

you can hold meetings there too, like the few groups you saw on the pictures. just remember this is not VAT @ JRL and the librians are much less noise-tolerant than the friendly ladies over at VAT.

it is a great place to spend time with your boyfriend or girlfriend (or maybe both) too. no one will stop you and some of the corners are rather secluded. it is much quieter than VAT as well so you could hear each other's sweet nothings better...... okay enough about this before some teacher sees it and I get into deep shit.

this marks the end of this photolog. so do pay the new Jurong West Community Library if you have the time.

An extremely random photolog

after getting the K750i and a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, I have been snapping practically any interesting thing I see happening on the streets. so here are some of the shots after using the phone for nearly a month.

by the way, I retained the candid pictures for the next photolog since I havent quite gathered enough faces yet. soon I will, soon I will...

I will make small comments about each picture.

a rainbow I saw at school a few weeks ago. I took it in front of the lift at L3 so I was pretty worried a teacher would go BOO! behind me and take my phone away.

some overflowing drain. the drain was filled to the brim and the water drained from the roof of the block 25 storeys up caused this to happen.

a picture of some plant near a bus stop I after raining. macro and light on.

saw this book at the library and decided to take a picture of it for no reason. macro used.

a white coloured moth with brown stripes I saw at the master bedroom. macro and 2x zoom.

Updates (or the lack thereof) yet again

Thursday, March 23, 2006

really sorry for not updating for a long long time. as most of you know my blog focuses more on events than myself. so I promise to do up a photolog from the Esplanade performance by CSS' performing arts groups:

Leaving a Legacy: A presentation of Kuo Pao Kun's Lao Jiu

I will try to show you all the structure of the Concert Hall of Esplanade as much as possible. as well as any interesting happening there. if I can get pictures of the performance I would to.

all pictures will be taken with a Sony Ericsson K750i with a MXE-60 Flash add-on.

before I go, compare this:

to this:

shows a lot about how rich you are. Bryan is the one holding the eight S$100 tickets in case you are wondering.
