Update!

so many events had passed that I cant be bothered to post all of the stuff that happened over these few days. maybe I would make it a combined post with all the details from the NYAA Camp.
in case you are wondering, the NYAA Camp is from the 1st to 2nd June of 2005 (for 2/3, 2/5, 2/6 and 2/7 at least) from 8.30am of the first day till 10am of the second day.
basically I have nothing much against their programmes except that they need a hell lot of stuff and I need to brainstorm on creative ways to carry this load with as little bags as possible. among the list of stuff are many things which I have to buy and all of them costs money. goes to show how troublesome it is.
hope that I would enjoy sleeping in a pitched tent then I guess. I forgot to get a electronic fan though, hope I dont die of dehydration or get barbecued inside there in the midst of the school field. I am wondering how big the tent will be and how many will be sharing one. can only hope for the best I guess...

can I please give some advice? yes?
CAN ALL OF YOU STOP USING IWEBMUSIC TO HOST WHATEVER MUSIC YOU HAVE ON YOUR BLOGS???
dont you all know iwebmusic is a site that is infested with advertisements and explaining all the trojan horses prompts from your antivirus software as well as the popups!
and dont you all find their limit on song filesize to be extremely disturbing? as far as I remember it is like 500kb (or 250kb) max? a song compressed to such sizes is of pretty bad quality.
instead of hosting music, you can always search for a song using lycos music or such and find a direct link to the song. I know that is leeching but well who cares =P
or you can approach me if you wanna host your songs too. no advertisements and songs are in WMA in the region of 1MB to 1.5MB and still dont sound bad (try http://hongx.blogspot.com for an example). as long as there are not too much people I guess it is okay.
enough of ranting then I guess.

The prompt and the hit counter as well as the Music Jukebox are restored to working conditions as before I send the blog to hibernation.
The Music Jukebox has been replaced with my current 12 favourite songs instead of the old ones which I no longer fancy as much. As you can see I like more english than chinese songs (because I listen to the english radio more than the chinese. 93.3 is so boring =P) Music are not arranged in any particular order.
Some of the songs in the Music Jukebox can really take one hell of a time to finish loading due to the size of the file. But some of them are ASXes which plays as soon as the first bits are done. So if no sound comes out and there is still activity, just wait. if there is no activity, inform me about that dead link.
The above paragraph also meant that if you are still stuck on a 56k connection (hint: pys), you can basically forget about playing any of the songs unless you are willing to wait such a heck of a time just for one single song.
just for an indication, a Singnet ADSL 1500Kbps connection takes about 10 to 20 seconds to load one song, so it will be even shorter if you are on 2000Kbps, 3500Kbps, 6500Kbps or *gasps*, MaxOnline Ultimate of 25000Kbps. 512Kbps are the norm though as far as I know. (no offence to the MOL users visiting)
What could be put at the top-centre of the blog? Give some suggestions leh. at first wanna put the PG thingy there but doesnt match the style of the blog so left it out liao. Thanks for any suggestions that may be contributed!

Plagarism
Monday, May 23, 2005
well...plagarism says it all. none of the below are my creation. just of a sudden interest while flipping through the July 2004 archives of a particular person's blog.
The councillors of Commonwealth Secondary School are a most unique batch of people. Unlike all the other student leaders in the school, the councillors possess their own distinct qualities. Below are the top ten reasons that make them CSS Councillors.
Top Ten Reasons That Make You Are A CSS Student Councillor
10. You don't have a life
09. You acknowledges homework as not the hardest thing about school
08. You regularly skip parts of lessons
07. You feel miserable on a daily basis
06. You have the priviledge to copy homework while others are at assembly
05. You spend every school holiday going off to voluntary torture sessions for several days
04. You attend a monthly function where you tolerate three hours of blaming
03. You could be fifteen minutes late for a meeting yet still arrive just in time for the meeting to start
02. You have a morning run every morning to report earlier than the person marking the attendance who is strolling to school
01. You have the time of your life being a councillor!!!
It is understood that the author of this blog has been bored and in dire need of an inspirational writing style to write a more interesting entry. Meanwhile, this entry is to be used to sufficiently amuse readers for the time being.
why did I post it? I have no idea.

Class Outing
Sunday, May 22, 2005
The first ever Class Outing is finally over and I took only a few candid shots since I lost my mood to after the bag starts splitting and taking over 30 minutes just to walk to and fro the changing room. pictures do show the lack of macro in the camera but I will only post them up tomorrow since I cant be bothered yet.
anyway I am among the earliest to arrive at 9.05am. chun kit is there when I arrived (no surprise, he is the closest to the station anyway) and apparently he is waiting for yai hui (nothing to hide liao lah after the outing). chong chiang and wei lei arrived at the same time approximately 5 minutes after I arrived. soon after our lead actress arrived and held hands with the lead actor right in front of us. at first this is quite a shock but it soon got pretty boring since it is seen overly often.
back to topic. the few of us went to Jurong Entertainment Centre, wanting to eat, but turned out we didnt. back to the station, apparently no one arrived till a while later people start arriving in groups. so much that I remembered only the last whom arrived, jiahui at 9.40am and phyo at like 9.50am. pei fen, shiva and adelaine wanna come too, but they were too late. very sad for them (especially for phyo, find out why later)
when we step onto the train (which didnt arrive exceptionally speedily mind you, showing SMRT Trains are deteriorating in schedules). train is pretty packed (expected from a public holiday) and the couple dashed to a particular corner and started touching each other here and there (photos like this wont be publicised, at least not in a great volume) which wasnt disturbed till later. since I am nearest to josef and phyo, soon I saw phyo smsing pei fen on why isnt she coming. and she subsequently replied and blahblah and soon he just called her to ask instead and blahblah. apparently calling didnt go too well either and went back to smsing. a sign of better things to come? (sorry, second lead actor denies the fact)
after some unrevealed talk with josef and phyo on the train, 40 minutes passed and we got off at Bedok. everyone proceeded to Bedok Bus Interchange and it took a while to decide that we should take 401 and in no time we reached East Coast Park Service Road. everybody rushed off at the first stop. the biggest mistake ever made. (you will know why later)
as expected with any outing, the day started boring when we went to the East Coast Lagoon Food Mall (or Village). a modern looking food centre resembling the rebuilt one at Boon Lay Place. we did perfectly nothing there and in fact we didnt even eat even though we are at a food centre. we did mess up a cup of drink though, similar to what happened at Pizza Hut during the Cyber******** (OMG I revealed something!) Legislative Council meeting... the cup had all sorts of rubbish into it and I offered a reward of 10 dollars if anyone took a sip of it (sounds like Perfect 10 Dares You To, brought to you by M1, One Life Live It. =P). no one interested though. just for keepsake, I took a picture of that rubbish too =P
after wasting hell a lot of time at the food centre, everyone went for the bicycle/rollerblades rental shop and either did cycling or skating. I cycled all the way to the end and back again and a few persons (zp, pys, jiahui, pamela, wei lei with jiahui matching my pace most of the time [hail the two cycling pros -.-"]) joined me. you will also see a extemely polluted seashore in those pictures I am posting. that is near the end of the track where it is extremely full of wild grasses and nobody is there (makes you wonder where the rubbish is from)
after that it is of course the beach. at first it is some photo taking, next came some lame beach volleyball. then comes the beginning of the climax with cc reuben and ct running to the water and pushing each other into it. they came back first, not for long before running to the water again. after a while they came back again and took a rest. this is the time when the xyyh group set off for the beach who came running back saying it is "very hot" (very untrue rather). and within some time they are back to the water. some of us decided to join the fun too and the original trio starting the mess tried to push everyone into the water. everyone then went crazy and started pushing everybody in, bent on getting everyone wet from head to toe. the two girls who happened to be near and refused to enter got splashed at (who eventually got pushed in. haha.) a few girls and guys who didnt have extra clothes are spared though, not enthu one. ck and yh started spending time again, this time in water, perfectly causing a problem since that caused no one to want to go back to the water (which I desperately wanted to since it is so bloody hot). thanks ah you two!
next came padey with a birthday cake. apparently it is for metinee (actually it isnt apparent since I dont even know it is her birthday). and the bloody lighter wouldnt bloody light thanks to the bloody wind and the candles forever refused to light and so we just sang the birthday song without the bloody candles and of course we ate the cake (duh). after that everyone is busily trying to smear everyone else's face with cream and ying sheng and I survived the ordeal! wowwwwww! (lame lah).
now we go back to the food centre again. now there is a bigggggggggggggg problem, that sonofab**** toilet of theirs looks nice, is somewhat in the open BUT WITHOUT A SHOWER! for goodness sake this is a beach and you build such a nice toilet WITHOUT A SHOWER? to make matters worse, there are no shower facilities within the west wing. hearing this most just ended up changing while kornelius and I took the freaking loooooooooooooooong trek to the ONE AND ONLY CHANGING ROOMS REGION OF THE ENTIRE BEACH. it is a 15 minutes walk there. I took about 5 minutes while the other guy took 10 minutes I think and we got back in 10 minutes. we ended up running our way back, totally defeating the purpose of bathing and walking so far.
well next we went to Marina Bowl. they wanna play bowling at first then talk talk talk until dont want (I have no idea why either) but everyone just went up to the rundown Paco Funworld upstairs. it is almost the worst arcade ever. games there are no fun at all and are pretty lame. most of those machines are half dead too.
anyway we went to 401 bus stop and waited TWENTY MINUTES for the bus to arrive, which took us on a ONE HOUR trip around since it is a loop service and we got on at the wrong side (not that it is our fault since the road cant really be crossed with so many cars on both sides). on the one hour trip things got pretty exciting for ck and yh and for once they looked like they are french kissing (from a back view). anyway I didnt really pay that much attention to that since I am busily chatting with josef and phyo and the three of us disturbing alicia and xinyi at the same time.
finally the one hour trip brought us back to Bedok Bus Interchange where some of us ate at the hawker centre while the rest went for the McDonalds. I went for the McDonalds where lame jokes are cracked and 3 ballons are gotten courtesy of Chong Chiang. jiahui started beating jin yee head with the ballon and jin yee took the pink one and beat on her head too. I had it captured anyway, though not too clear so can forget about watching that rubbish.
after that went home liao. nothing exciting on the trip so dont ask.

Results

the title says it all. Results! Mid-Year Examination 2005 results to be more precise.
By now, I knew about the results to all the core subjects. namely english, chinese, science, maths and geography. of these, geog and chinese are A1, 78.6 and 76.8 (=P) respectively. chinese is sort of expected, but for geography I am expecting only an A2 and yet I got something higher than chinese. life is unpredictable...
science is a B3 with ZERO POINT SIX MARK TO AN A2, namely 69.4 -.-" the same thing happened with my MYE paper when I got 69/100 which is ONE mark to A2. what a greattttttttttttttttttt disappointment...adding to the fact life is unpredictable
maths is a B4. I expected a bit more for this since I thought I could get maybe a 65 or something but turned out I didnt. I also missed B4 in my MYE paper by ONE mark too. see? unpredictable is the word.
english is the worst of all worst subjects with a C6. in case you thought this is an horribly low mark, mind you, most of the S2E 2005 had scores of B and C ranges too, so it is not me that is exceptionally lousy alright! though my marks are near the low end already. class position 21 for this particular subject.
CME is quite good of course, Sec 1 and 2 CME are easy stuff, Sec 3 and Sec 4 heard that there are things to actually study for and common sense can no longer help you through things. such as learning more about other religon or writing CVs (or resumes).
Art is not exactly disappointing since I didnt fail it this time =P I got a 55-60 range of mark (exact dont know since it is written C+). HEY I DIDNT FAIL!!!! =P cant help but emphasise the fact. I never was good at art so a B or C is good enough for me.
the most ironic about the core subjects is that for those 200 percentile subjects (english, maths and science) I did pretty horribly at them while I excelled in those 100 percentile ones (geography and chinese) while I am okay in the 3 subject totalling 100 percentile subject (art, D&T, home econs).
life is unpredictable...

Viewing Advisory for my blog
Friday, May 20, 2005
Quite surprised at how loose United States of America movie censorship law are. Expected a PG-13 standard for my blog but it got a PG instead. So I guess the blog's content is all right for all to view!
Tried rating a few other blogs too, and found all with a G rating. Seemed my blog is still a notch above the rest after all...
==========================================

Guidance may be suggested. Some of your writings may not be suitable for some people. Explicit sex and talk of drug use is basically absent; nudity, if present, is shown in a non-sexual way or isnt full nudity, horror and violence does not exceed moderate levels in your writings.

Title? What Title?
welcome back! since I am busy with NYAA two days before and filing yesterday I finally feel like writing an entry today.
the 2nd session of NYAA is somewhat much shorter than the previous one, maybe because even the time decrease by an hour too =P anyway dont think that Ultimate Frisbee is very easy, there are lots of strange ways to throw the saucer lookalike plastic and some of them takes quite a while to master (sidearm throw for example). plus we are training right at the field for two hours just like soccer and the sun is pretty bloody hot, definitely not better than table tennis.
filing got nothing much to say right, cant be bothered to arrange english file in order. just punch holes and throw everything into it. bad thing is that I forgot that I have to bring chinese file too and had to do two chinese letters as punishment, not exactly a very challenging punishment =P
today is quite an err...exciting day. during the home economics lesson, as aishah is not even in her kitchen, all HEers returned to class and because of the smaller size of the class, we are able to get more choice and seatings and less noises from games. after a while, phyo whipped out his 6610i and started taking pictures. seeing that how councillors are our role models and that they are all good examples, I took out my own phone too and start taking pictures. getting my drift, we started challenging "extreme shooting stunts" (which would not be revealed) and even though the windows are right open and right outside is a corridoor leading to the secondary 3 classes, no soul seemed to notice our misconduct allowing us to take quite some pictures. most are deleted though, dont worry.
after recess I was told about the Murderer game which the D&Ters played to pass time in the D&T room. the most interesting thing about this game is the inclusion of an "expansion pack", the rapist (=P). murderers wink as usual, but rapists raise their eyebrows. in one of the rounds I knew the most of is the round when chong keng was the rapist. he is a serial rapist as he tried raping all the girls in the game (10 I think). when he reached janaki (or someone else who is the murderer), the murderer winked at the rapist at the same time. so imagine the scene when the rapist is raping the murderer and the murderer is killing the rapist with a knife....
okay if I go on it would become pornographic content which is not allowed as this blog is rated PG-13 and not suitable for minors. back to topic.
and then by noon during the PC period once adrian chia leaves, I heard about yet another news about alicia's stead. happens to be josef. so to celebrate the birth of a new couple, Phyo and I both offered our friendly services to help them take a few pictures. it is quite a waste as I didnt manage to capture shots at the correct time and I had a pretty uncandid one and one overly uncandid and formal one by at quite a large distance. phyo shot a pretty nice one though, unfortunately my hand blocked the view and he is a bit far away. as to showing the pictures that would have to wait till I get a reply from them =P
see all 2/3' 2005'ers at the class outing on sunday then I guess. there wouldnt be much to post for tomorrow anyways.

today is quite an err...exciting day. during the home economics lesson, as aishah is not even in her kitchen, all HEers returned to class and because of the smaller size of the class, we are able to get more choice and seatings and less noises from games. after a while, phyo whipped out his 6610i and started taking pictures. seeing that how councillors are our role models and that they are all good examples, I took out my own phone too and start taking pictures. getting my drift, we started challenging "extreme shooting stunts" (which would not be revealed) and even though the windows are right open and right outside is a corridoor leading to the secondary 3 classes, no soul seemed to notice our misconduct allowing us to take quite some pictures. most are deleted though, dont worry.
after recess I was told about the Murderer game which the D&Ters played to pass time in the D&T room. the most interesting thing about this game is the inclusion of an "expansion pack", the rapist (=P). murderers wink as usual, but rapists raise their eyebrows. in one of the rounds I knew the most of is the round when chong keng was the rapist. he is a serial rapist as he tried raping all the girls in the game (10 I think). when he reached janaki (or someone else who is the murderer), the murderer winked at the rapist at the same time. so imagine the scene when the rapist is raping the murderer and the murderer is killing the rapist with a knife....
okay if I go on it would become pornographic content which is not allowed as this blog is rated PG-13 and not suitable for minors. back to topic.
and then by noon during the PC period once adrian chia leaves, I heard about yet another news about alicia's stead. happens to be josef. so to celebrate the birth of a new couple, Phyo and I both offered our friendly services to help them take a few pictures. it is quite a waste as I didnt manage to capture shots at the correct time and I had a pretty uncandid one and one overly uncandid and formal one by at quite a large distance. phyo shot a pretty nice one though, unfortunately my hand blocked the view and he is a bit far away. as to showing the pictures that would have to wait till I get a reply from them =P
see all 2/3' 2005'ers at the class outing on sunday then I guess. there wouldnt be much to post for tomorrow anyways.

...received two extremes of the marks that I will achieve in the MYE (or so I hope). I did exceptionally well in geog (at least in my opinion) while I did exceptionally badly in maths (<60 score, how about that?).
everyone agrees paper 1 is a challenging one, including the teacher. she said this is to push us to work harder since we are preparing for the O' Levels after all. well she could at least let us practise more and slowly let us get used to such an exam. my score isnt exactly among the highest but it isnt overly among the lowest either.
science results are released halfway since the super slow teacher havent finish marking section c. bah. actually cant blame him also. science is among the last paper we took, but it is also already exactly one week today, but then he also need to mark other class papers too...oh nevermind...hope to hit at least an A2 for it I hope...
since there is no chinese lesson today so of course we are not able to know any form of our chinese results -.-" hope I did not do too bad for my chinese too since it is one of my elite subjects. best if I can get to know the results to all aspects of the chinese MYE tomorrow so that I can calculate the marks as soon as possible...
english is already revealed to be a total mess already (though I have no idea how exactly messy is it). B3 at least please? I cannot take yet another blow after the horrendulous and problematic maths MYE results...
talking about english, we are supposed to finish The Treasure of the Tiger book which is approximately 200 pages by thursday for the reading quiz. and our english teacher hope it wont be as bad as the previous A Town Like Alice one. dream on. unless I read it whenever I had the time in school, I would have no time at all to finish that darn book of theirs since there is NYAA tomorrow till 5pm (but confirm overtime thanks to Peter Lim)
talk about NYAA, yes the next session is tomorrow! what the heck? it is time to learn some more interesting ways of throwing that plastic-plate-lookalike thing around from A to B and vice versa and play friendly matches against each other every once in a while to put the concepts learnt to use. well I am not too clear about even the first session and we are going on to something new? wonder if I can take it...
friday seemed so looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong away (much longer than the long I just typed) since there is still a thursday! time seems to move real slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly after the MYE ended. hope that lessons resume soon so I wont start forgetting whatever I have learnt clean =P
but I digress.
why I mentioned friday is because Cybernauts (soon wont be liao =P) will finally resume after a long break all because of the MYE. lets see how long we stopped... since 15th april. and today is 15th may. one whole month (meaning 8 meetings) without any CCA. now that it resume it is time to get things back on track...

Update...

after the welcome post, it is time to switch back to my old way of typing =P
the entire mid-year exam is generally okay but most of the problems I faced is in the Mathematics paper. Paper 1 is pretty darn difficult and I cannot finish it in time while Paper 2 is so easy that I completed it in slightly under an hour. wouldnt be surprised if it is a B3. I am not alone in the inability in finishing paper 1 though...
as for general science, thanks to my last minute mugging, I managed to polish up lots and lots of my problems I faced with general science in time. hopefully I can get an A2/A1 for general science since I did put in quite some effort for it and hopefully it didnt go to waste
Geography is quite a breeze too, except one or two questions within the structured questions. guess that is where most of the marks will be gone. since I always did well generally for geog, I hope than an A2/A1 would not be a problem this time.
didnt put much hope in english too. if that is possible. didnt study enough on the compositions and the comprehension cloze is pretty challenging. my english hasnt been very good these days anyway. B3 would be nice.
chinese is generally easy since it is those subjects that I worry the least about (and still mug quite a lot for) the compo didnt seem to difficult, in fact it is pretty easy, the paper too, except a few parts. for the oral though, suppose I had lost quite a few marks in the sections of normal conversation due to some stammering.
art is in a mess as usual. I never liked art and so never did well for that before. even a C5 is possible =P over 60 marks I happy liao lah. CME is quite okay too since they are all the common sense questions and not that I really give too much thought to it anyway.
this should wrap up the MYE segment. hope that I could achieve my targets this time.

cybernauts new name is out! if you are a cybernaut, you will get to know it during the camp. if you are not, I have no idea when you would, maybe when we annouce anything through the morning assembly you all could catch it or something...and hell dont bug me for the name since this is quite a big secret out (though with bahari style of advertising I doubt so...)
have to agree the new name for the club is not really that bad. even the name for the management committee is pretty nice sounding too. no more cybernuts or cybernaughty! =P
anyway just to wrap up the article, Zinger tastes nice after not eating it for two months =P *runs for flame shield as Farhan comes with a flamethrower*
Blog Revived
After 2 long months of slumber, deskoh91's blog finally wakes up from its deep sleep and resumes its duties...
Welcome back! I am happy to annouce the revival of the blog! Now that exams are over, I am able to take out some time to post every once in a while. While the updates would not be daily, I would try my best to update at least once every week.
The links section is now fixed. All those who are previously not linked are now linked. Those who had their addresses changed are also updated. Unfortunately, the music section is now down since I am not in the mood to upload the songs yet. Would work on it soon.
For now I am busy with restoring all the posts that I had hidden before sending the blog into hibernation and with over 200 posts, it would take me a while to get the Archives back on track. Design of the blog would also remain with this till I have a brainwave on what should be done.
Do check back regularly for updates from now on though.
