Life - Reposicion 2007
Thursday, December 27, 2007
it means revival in spanish. the programmes booklet for that night said so.
for those blur sotongs, Reposicion 2007 is the seniors prom for Commonwealth's class of 2007. it just happened like last sunday the 23rd at shangri-la rasa sentosa resort.
I planned pictures for this post, but then none of the photos are blogworthy since I am sure you wont want to know and see all the photos with me and my friend(s) in it anyway.
so I shall just describe the entire situation that day in words. I have a whole truckload of the not-so-recent 2/3 chalet photos to do a photoblog as well. but that is for another day when I am done procrastinating again.
the below is a monologue with myself throughout the entire day. timestamps are attached for your convenience.
==
PRE-PROM (warning: boring like crap. good for kaypohs.)
9am: what a beautiful day! the birds are chriping bountifully to their own jovial... yadda yadda...
fast forwarded the rest in case later got some guy come to my brain and steal this to write as the opening to their compo sia! wahlao I as bhb as zp liao. cannot.
9:17am: ying sheng replied to say he confirmed with anba to take bus with nicky. cannot go with us. oh well.
10am (breakfast): a few hours later I will be having a meal many times better than this sia! cant wait to see the girls in their resplendent finery! wait. why did I tell you all that?
10.23am: emolei sms me to tell me jinyu might wanna come with us. but she wants to meet at 5pm. I ask whether 4.30pm can or not.
12.17pm: chun kit sms me whether he can join emolei and I. why I become like tour guide liddat? ask him go bug jinyu to check time.
2:40pm: meeting time and place finally confirmed man. after like asking the exact same question for 12 hours.
2:45pm - 3:45pm: kns I simply no talent with design la. now have some guailan hairdo after one hour with that spanking new can of purple-coloured Gatsby© Moving Rubber©. to think I went three places to find it -.-"
that stylist at shirley mah created a proper style in seconds while demonstrating to me wor. so easily some more. should have just cut my hair today. zz.
4.30pm: met emolei at boon lay. jinyu too shy and met up with dayana at JE directly. wait, why got another person?!? aiyah whatever.
~5pm: just when I am done joking about jinyu's "light and easy" approach to dressing up for prom night, chun kit came even more casually in short-sleeved polo shirt and sports shoes. he looked more surprised than us when he see us in long-sleeved shirt and blazer. too late.
5+pm: walking around in vivo at the sky park doing nothing in particular. sky was kinda overcast. didnt walk long before we looked for sentosa express since station is at vivo 3rd level and because its boring.
5++pm: we paid 3 dollars to take sentosa express, inclusive of admission fee. basically wasted that darn letter and my printer ink. and the trip was like less than 15 minutes. should have just taken the bus or walked in right? zzzzzzzzz.
5+++pm: what the fish is wrong with this blue line bus thing? it is already bad enough to have a non-airconditioned bus stop, the bus is taking eons to arrive also!
5++++pm: dammit the bus is no better. I think even ayam brand sardines get more space in that tin than us in this darned bus.
5+++++pm: I want to kill the person responsible for the siting of rasa sentosa resort. why the heck is it on top of such a ludicrously steep hill? do they want me to be as drenched (in sweat) as a cow before prom even begins? irritants everywhere.
~5:45pm: met plenty of ppl at resort entrance. some people seriously looked different. registered as well. didnt stay for long before settling down at my table whose number I forgot (21?) before I suffer a nosebleed.

PROM
till ~7pm: the pre-prom entertainment by asnida and whatever was really kinda sad. it is just as interesting as that "commonwealth video" ever did. which isnt really interesting. think you get the idea. oh, faizal performed a song. good, wonderful. now end this quickly.
7:10pm: emcee is vijay. believe me when I tell you I am so not surprised.
7:20pm: they are interviewing random people on why they wore what they did and how much it cost. my only thought was to not pick me actually so I am not paying attention.

people who know me will realise I am not the emolei sort. but then I want to make emolei-esque post now leh. so I will make a happy and chim emo post! I will write small small! then I will write chimly to throw you people without the adequate patience off reading it! woohoo!
...dont look at me like that leh. my ratio of emo post to happy post is like 1:93475894375983475838 and probably 90348590348590438593 times lesser than blogs owned by individuals of my age group in this country ok. give me a bit of leeway la.
let me bring you a typical emo post by a person of my age group:
WARNING: the below illustration is totally fictional and any resemblence to similar posts is simply because emo posts churned out by people of my age nowadays are the same. lol.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN THAT IT IS TOTALLY MY FAULT AND THAT YOU HAVE NOT BLAME ACTUALLY IT IS ALL BECAUSE OF YOU IDIOT JUS SERIOUSLY STOP GIVING A SHIT ABOUT THE FRIENDS I HAVE THEY ARE MY FRIENDS NOT YOURS AND IT IS UP TO ME TOD ECIDE WHETHER THEY ARE GOOD FIRENDS AND NOT DAMN IT JUST GO AWAY AND STOP INTERFEREING IN MY LIFE LA ARGH
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
full of angst and not very coherent. unlike mine which even bothered to include a prologue to entertain you all and avoided caps to the greatest extent possible.
some more I must be like the first person on earth to even think of how I should WRITE AN EMO POST okay. most people just senselessly ramble on and on. whats more, I SPENT TWO HOURS THINKING!
please do not ask any questions nor assume anything about the stuff if you read. it is like basic courtesy. that is about how much I think I should share, so dont press for more.
anyway, I am putting it here because I really just wanted an avenue to pen down my thoughts and this is, after all, my own blog.
it has been a long time since I last felt that something important in my life is missing just because I had not been talking to a particular person for a few days.
signals are thus far a mixed bag on the scale, invoking warfare between the cynic and optimist in me.
the cynic thinks I am just giving myself false hope and just looking too much into a simple thing. he also reminded me I am at risk of becoming an irritant if I kept on disturbing her.
but the optimist refuses to be defeated since he is reminded of a few similar case studies regarding perseverance. he also told me isnt liking someone partly about how every small thing the other party does affects you as well?
now, that is an interesting revealation. I have to admit that every small action that the person makes does have an impact on me. I feel hurt when ignored, but that is clean forgotten when an effort is made, no matter how small, to respond. is this how it is supposed to be like?
I am at risk of sounding like a typical idol drama, but that had been something I had realised for a while.
indeed, I am feeling more pessimistic than optimistic about the situation now, but a part of me simply refuses to give up on this ray of hope.
this is a period of uncertainty. many things are going to change in the next few months. this only adds to the worries.
I think I miss someone.
P.S. perry signed in at the moment when I am done writing about the cynic and the optimist. his display name read "everything will work out". freaky coincidence?

I think we teenagers should feel really honoured. the government (and its employees, aka civil servants) are trying to "speak our lingo", or so they say.
the post-1965 born Members of Parliament performed hip-hop during chingay this year. the senior management of MDA rapped along to their self-imagined perfection. now, CSS teachers are now playing Halo 3, MapleStory and O2Jam!
seems this happened during some teachers' retreat that happened overseas. since all of the teachers are present, as you can see from the video below.
NOTE: the videos are kinda soft. you might wanna crank up the volume by a few notches.
on a side note, teachers' retreat are always overseas to prevent them from leaving the event early or missing it entirely, I am serious.
guess they just decided to venture into the lanshop in that area to take a look at the very devils that had kept their students so hooked onto them and causing them to neglect their schoolwork.
watch out for vicki loh playing maplestory. and the guy who managed to play O2Jam with three fingers. and the 压轴表演 is proudly brought to you by Mrs Yeo Siew Mui at 01:25, who shrieked and laughed like a child seeing candy.
a particularly interesting excerpt of the conversation:
Yeo SM: You see! Everytime got danger I will hide. Hahahahahaha!
Random Teacher 1: Jialat sia. She is addicted ah?
Sri: This one must put up on blog and let students see the teachers ahh...
Random Teacher 2: ... yeah yeah addicted addicted!
Yeo SM: Eh is they bring me here one then now say I addicted!
to me, it looked a lot like they are doing some form of project. albeit a fun one. you can see that they continuously referenced to papers and files with commonwealth's logo stamped on top. but I cant be sure.
can some current student go and help me ask some teacher about it? I am now an alumni of my glorious secondary school. this is a holiday without any care for academics but to find a job and earn lots of money. I am very sad I tell you.
