2nd "Initiative" Meeting and Wild Wild Wet

Wednesday, November 30, 2005

today is the second initiative meeting and I am late, since I woke up at 9.05am when chong keng called me and asked where am I since the meeting is supposed to start at 9am.

I started preparing hurriedly and my father offered to drive me there again. he is always the one driving me to cybernauts related stuff nowadays.

when I arrived the meeting has already begun. basically what they did today is to set tasks for everyone involved and prepared the general overview of how the project will proceed.

back end tasks such as getting equipment and preparing proposals are planned, not to forget the work on how we could publicise the thing once it is ready to be made known to public.

after that we decided to have lunch at where we had the meeting, the McDonalds in the block 229 region. there is also a discussion about rail lines across the world.

the entire thing ended at around 2pm and everyone went home. rather uneventful.

===============

heard that the original crew who went Escape went Wild Wild Wet today. with the exception of metinee who happens to be stuck in thailand. and let me repeat it again:

if you wanna eat yummy yoghurt (whatever that yummy word supposedly means), ask phyo to treat you. and you treat him to his movie ticket at the same time. the end result is eating yummy yoghurt in the cinema instead of popcorn. hahahahaha.

enough of teasing and back to topic. mx cant go as well because his mother refused (so guai). I cant go due to the abovementioned meeting that ended earlier than expected and because I will very likely just disgrace myself there with my substandard swimming skills.

they are most probably still enjoying themselves over at that particular spot in Downtown East over at Pasir Ris trying to suck every cent out of their free passes.

the last time we went Escape we entered at 11+am and left at 6+pm. which about covers the entire operating time of Escape. the same thing must have happened this time.

gonna drill wei lei later and see if anything interesting happened. zp the bloody selfish guy refused to disclose anything.

===============

wOOt! I finally finished 18 out of the 20 episodes of Wang Zi Bian Qing Wa! the climax of the show seems to be coming a bit late.

after I finish the series means I can (finally) format my computer. cant wait to try the version of Windows XP I just... bought off the internet just to see if it solves my problem.

guess that is all then. and the gang still havent came back from wild wild wet.

Sudden Realisation

Tuesday, November 29, 2005

after checking the finalised class list. I suddenly realised that my class is one of those with lesser guys. to be more exact, 15 guys 24 girls.

out of the 15 guys, many of them are rather friendly people and being in the same class as them isnt much of a challenge. the same thing goes with the girls as well.

but there is one problem I just noticed.

we do not have enough guys who can well... run extremely quickly. I admit I am not much of a runner myself and basically that is what I am worrying now.

hopefully my judgement is wrong and there are actually more people who can run than I expected.

Daytona Go-Kart at Escape Theme Park and why Jin Yee beat me in the game

Monday, November 28, 2005

I suddenly have a thought on Daytona Go-Kart at Escape when the few of us went there after the class chalet that I decided to write about it.

pei fen and jia hui kept playing Pirate Ship in order to not join us for the other rides while mx is sick. shiva may have joined us but I am not too sure.

==============

we played the Advance Track, supposedly meant for those people with some driving experience because we believe we are all professional drivers =)

the few of us decided to go for the ride at the same time so we let some people go first. it is about half and hour or so before all of us hopped onto the Go-Karts.

at first I was worried I cannot drive well. turns out is was much simpler. the only thing you can do is turn the steer or step on the gas or brake. the turning wasnt hydraulics based (power steering) and so the turning is much more responsive.

===============

I am the fourth to drive off and I caught up and sped past wei lei and xinyi when we hardly started the first round. one even before entering the slope and the other halfway through the slope.

I did not face much competition after that though jin yee seems to be forever in front of me and she happily speeds down slopes without even stepping on the brake. from here I conclude I drive much more safely than her.

the three rounds or so passed quickly and we are told to stop and wait for others to arrive. jin yee is at the finishing point already and I did not use much brake so I would hit her Go-Kart. I used too little brake and she moved quite a distance to the front =P

===============

I only remembered wei lei and xinyi arrived some time later while zp is struggling to catch up. and there goes all the waiting.

after a few weeks and that is today, I pondered about why I would lose to jin yee. other than her not using the brake at all, it is because of heredity.

jin yee's father drives a taxi. so basically he drives almost everyday for long hours to make a living.

my father drives a bus, so basically he does the same thing as what jin yee' s father does, except he drives something bigger and it is a Mercedes Benz =P

and as you know, taxi travels faster than bus because bus is bigger in size. thats why she drives faster than me.

zp father does R&D work and basically stares at static things all day. so he drives the slowest.

that is the focus of this enty. thanks for reading =D

2/3'05 Outing

Wednesday, November 23, 2005

for the outing, we are watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. this makes it my second time watching the mediocre movie.

luckily, they decided to change the venue last minute, which means I wont be as lucky as to seat the same seat in the same hall in the same cinema again.

they decided to go Causeway Point and changed the time to 11.15AM so that those who had their retests could just drop by after their retest.

chong keng and I decided to meet at Jurong East MRT Station at 10.45AM first and head there together. zp kept bugging me to meet him at Yew Tee as well. chong keng arrived 1 minute before he is considered late (at least he claims) and we hopped onto the Marina Bay bound North-South line train waiting on the platform then.

then begins the chaotic process of telling zp exactly what to do to get onto same train as us. I started hitting on the keypad trying to write an sms, before giving up and just calling him instead. I had to explain exactly which train we are on and which cabin we are at and where he should stand so he could see us. it is nearly 10 minutes before I am done.

then at choa chu kang station, we saw calvin. we didnt arrange with him to meet us. maybe that is fate (but sounds rather inappropriate here). when we reached yew tee we saw zhepeng as well. both of them are wearing class T-shirt. so enthu.

the four of us arrived and went up to the top level where the cinema is and saw NONE OF THEM AROUND. so they are late. we moved around idly and went one level down and I smsed jin yee and she called me back after some minutes.

they are at the basement having lunch and are coming up. our location provides a perfect vantage point as we can see all the escalators connecting up to the current level. then we decided to "reappeear" behind them for fun. calvin revealed our identity when he moved out too quickly when we are hiding behind the staircase.

phyo was late and only managed to arrive just when we just got the tickets (15 of them. hur hur). jiahui and pamela are even worse, for they only arrived some time after the movie started and alicia and jin yee ended up waiting for them outside.

some guy suggested balloting the tickets. and so it was done. the end result was calvin and zhepeng were beside me.

I already said what I could about the movie when I watched it previously.

after watching the same boring and lengthy movie again, those two badminton had to rush back to school. phyo, calvin and hexun joined them since those three cant bear to part with their computers for too long.

the rest of us went to burger king for lunch. and chong keng decided to try out the tomato sauce and chilli sauce chemical reaction crap. my obvious movements made everyne see through his evil plans. haha.

then comes the MRT trip home. it is bloody uneventful. I am facing quite some lag currently with WinDVR and BitComet running at the same time so I think I shall end here.

Review: McDonalds Home Delivery

Tuesday, November 22, 2005

(Post date edited to reflect date of event)

I decided to give McDonalds Home Delivery a try since it has been around for a few months already. whats more they supposedly deliver 24 hours a day.

once you call, they have an automated system that asks you whether you wanna make an order or have enquiries. press 1 to make an order (of course).

you will have to hold for a few moments (I called at 9+am and I still had to wait for nearly a minute) before an officer could get to you. he would get your name, postal code, address (pizza hut gets your postal code and knows your address immediately) before getting your order down.

there is no minimum order, meaning you dont have to order at least a value before they deliver but they charge $2 instead. after placing an order of a Big Breakfast meal with drink changed to regular milo and a Sausage McMuffin with Egg, I had to pay $10.75 in total.

the person said I have to wait for an hour. but actually in about 45 minutes it arrived. time seems somewhat long for such early mornings. and I am paying $2 for them to deliver it over mind you.

even though the weather is freezing cold. the food arrived reasonably warm. so I think they may be making multiple trips or that bag of theirs is really so magic.

so this marks the end of the review. the service is generally pleasent. the officers on the phone and the delivery lady are quite polite, and the food isnt anything too different from what you would get if you make a trip down to the nearest McDonalds.

though if you are expecting its delivery at midnight after not eating for the entire day I think you will probably starve to death before the food arrives.

Boring Monday

Monday, November 21, 2005

(NOTE: Links found within this entry are not recommended for individuals sensitive to suggestive [or mature] themes.)

since I have nothing to do, I went to check out Guther. some of his songs are featured on the 2/3 Class Chalet Video as Phyo is a big fan of Gunther.

finally I knew why Phyo loved Gunther so much.

*taken down the links. a bit over for some I guess =P*

if you leave the videos aside, his songs actually make good trance music as well. so phyo may like Gunther for either (or both =P) the videos and/or the songs.

another song he introduced me to was Eric Prydz's Call on Me. this video is quite a hit as well. and is pretty funny if you understood what they are doing.

ensure your room is empty before clicking on the links. I will not be responsible if any of your siblings or parents saw you watching this.

Personal Update

Sunday, November 20, 2005

I removed the prompt and the music from the blog since I thought they were redundant and are becoming an irritant.

readers also commented that they are attracted to my blog for what I post than the music playing in the background (unlike calvin from 2/3'05)

another reason for the removal of the prompt is it is no longer required since no music is playing in the background and it will no longer cause a jam when you visit my blog for the first time.

I may be changing the skin soon as well, if I can find a better one based on Bleach. currently there is none though so happy waiting.

now regarding the plans for the next week (starting 21st november that is)...

I will be watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets AGAIN, this time with 2/3'05. I am paying $7.50 for the same movie at the same place (and same hall and seat if I am lucky) just to attend the gatherings of two former classes.

will also be dropping by Singapore Expo with bahari and phyo for SITEX 2005. those two are gonna try their luck at the Quake 4 competition. hope they do not win and enter finals or we will have to go home after 7.30pm again.

the three of us will probably drop by some interesting place again after SITEX. haha. that also means more pictures as well. my photoblogging skills is improving after doing it so many times.

I still havent went back to school this holidays except for checking posting results nearly two weeks ago. compared to the badminton girls, athletes and councillors, it is regarded as a joke.

I will only be getting my books and stuff somewhere at the start of december in order to get my uniforms and long pants (FINALLY!) at the same time and save another trip, wasting time (not money since I use bus pass).

guess that is all for this update.

Cybernauts and Student Council Initiative Meeting

Saturday, November 19, 2005

(Date of entry changed to reflect supposed date of publishing)

the meeting involved the CSS Cybernauts EXE.COM 2005 and CSS Student Council Executive Committee Internal Affairs division 2005/2006.

basically this meeting is about the senior advisor of both sides, mohammed farhan bin rais annoucing his big plan to us and getting ready for the big thing coming your way.

since I signed a Secrets Agreement, I am not allowed to discuss much as much as I wanted to being a professional blogger (hee).

this is an initiative, meaning a service. if we get kick this off successfully, we will be among the few who does this and bring lots of fame to the school. it also will be an all-new platform for entertainment, competitions and relaxation.

this will also mean that we have a lot to learn and try. which may not be a bad thing. on the flip side, lots of time, dedication and manpower is constantly required for this initiative, which may mean that this may all be a limited time period of thing, just like many citisuccess projects (except SPA -.-")

guess this is all I can say for the moment. all I can say is, watch what is coming your way next year. it is gonna be something paving your way to much greater things.

RPS 6L'03 Outing

Friday, November 18, 2005

basically we just went to watch the movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and arcade before and after it.

wei chang and I met at around 1pm to go for lunch. since he dont want McDonalds we went KFC which I ate at yesterday as well.

after all the eating and ordering we are walking around by 1.40pm. spotted nicholas drooling at some game outside comics connections. had a chat and continued walking. spotted some of those girls who had arrived as well. a little walk down saw more 6L'03 people.

by the time everyone was here there was still about 20 minutes before the movie start. so they went to the arcade to play Daytona. I was watching them race for a while till 2.40pm before all of us proceeded to the cinema (Hall 6) for the movie.

since it is only the second day, of course there are lots of people and it is a big cinema. only got a bottle of pepsi so I wouldnt overeat or drink again.

onto the movie, basically it follows rather closely to the book, except the movie has cut away lots of additional contents and basically all that is left is those stuff essential to progress the story. they also had to change some facts in the movie in order to streamline the entire story.

the new dumbledore talks faster and generally not as gentle as the previous one. not really how dumbledore should have been I guess. it is either because it is the new guy or the director's instruction. I dont know.

after that they went arcade to play Daytona again. they dont seem to get sick of it. I watched for a while and went home. too boring.

I am seldom at home nowadays it seems. wednesday I went SBYM to perform maintanence on thier coms and slack. thursday I went WCG. friday I went watch movie. tomorrow there is some "inititative" meeting to discuss the details of the collaboration between Cybernauts and CSS Student Council.

and next wednesday I am wasting $7.50 to go watch the same movie at the same place but this time with 2/3. great ways to waste money. zz.

WCG Grand Finals 2005 & Esplanade Outing

Thursday, November 17, 2005

met up with bahari at 2pm today to prooceed to World Cyber Games Grand Finals 2005. phyo reached home after his GM at around 2 and we ended up waiting for phyo for around 45 minutes before he finally arrived.

took the train and fast forward to City Hall MRT Station, we got off and exited. since phyo and I havent went suntec before, bahari led the way. turns out you had to walk all the way along the Citylink Mall till the end before you finally arrive at Suntec City Mall & Convention Centre.

we exited and crossed the metal-built overhead bridge where Circle Line stage 1's works were in progress below. not too sure about the time we finally reached suntec but it isnt a very long nor short walk.

even after arriving at the Suntec City Convention Centre, we had to go up quite a few floors, guided by signs looking like the one you saw below before finally arriving at Convention Hall 602 which is located at the topmost level of the convention centre. you can see the large WCG sign they placed outside hall 602 in the last picture

at this point, chong keng called me and informed me that all appeals from our class with the exception of alicia's are not successful. seemed to me they are rather strict with their criteria for appeals. and it seemed he told others I appealed for 3/3 when I did not.

back to topic.

when you first enter, you see this big stage right in front of you. found out later it is where some of the matches are played. basically this is how it looks like when you are closer.

this is called the Main Stage by the way.

we turned left when we first enter, so we finally reached this scratch-to-win booth. you need to have a WCG website account first before you can proceed (which I already have from printing the ticket). we decided to try our luck.

you see bahari gleefully logging in and scratching the card. however, all three of us end up with the same screen you see below that picture...

"sorry you didnt win the prize."

there is also some guys working on graffiti on the four walls placed in some empty corner when you turn left. the completed work is shot after around two or three hours.

here are some random shots of razer and samsung. both premium sponsors of the event.

this shows the practice area cum competition arena. each game got their respective arena fenced all around with the game prominently marked at the entrance. competitors wear tags that look somewhat similar to athletes. cant take a nice shot. oh well.

one of the sponsors of the event, Intel, has a booth for themselves. it is decorated in a theme that makes the place look like some garage.

this is the CyberSpace or more commonly known as the side stage. some competitions are held there as well according to their programme schedule. cant take a nice shot also.

we got this tattoo from one rather nice young lady. it is of course all for advertising. we also got some calculator or whatever. of course for advertising as well. you can see it is almost 5.30pm.

there are some computers and laptops there to let you test the power of the Intel processors. first you see bahari playing Doom 3 on the laptop, then came phyo. the two finally decided to take a place each and battle each other out.

poor me had to go off to other booths to watch some other stuff and it is only after half hour or so did the two finally stop.

we also filled in the form for a chance to get a Intel motherboard worth US$230 (S$416). think the price is exaggerated. the first one or two people were not around which made us rather excited. unfortunately we didnt even win one of the three motherboards -.-"

after the lucky draw marks the end of our trip to WCG. by then it is about 7.30pm -.-"

this is a shot taken when we are leaving. this sign is hung up after 7+ or so. guess they got some buffet for the media or something. we can smell the food. bahari says the media party meant one camera shooting another camera and vice versa.

and I did not put the picture up as none of you are looking at the phone when I took the picture. so it turned out real bad. I dont even have it left =P

so we decided to drop by esplanade as suggested by bahari since it is only a short walk from suntec city convention centre and it is already night.

and really just a little walk through the Citylink Mall and we saw this!

look at the lights along the street. the overhead bridge is decorated as wel. a tell-tale sign that we are in city and christmas is approaching.

how it looks like from another angle

well you can see the camera sucked at taking night shots.

since we wanted to get to the rooftop, we started joking about the place. we said that the esplanade is a very "cultivated" and "cultured" place. after all its for the appreciation of art.

when we reached the rooftop terrace, the first thing I noticed was how well you can see the skyline of the Central Business District. unfortunately my camera dont do justice to it. it turned out rather blur I know.

the place is also dimly-lighted with only some small light posts here and there. the garden is also properly decorated to make the place look elegant instead of creepy with the lights.

soon after arriving however, we noticed that if you were to walk into some bushes, you notice couples making out. we seemed to have disturbed a pair and we ran our way out.

we walked around and joked about a little bit before finally decided to go to the other side of the terrace. on our way, we saw another couple making out. this time under a security camera some more. it is true that love makes one stupid.

when we reached the other side, boy did the scene shock us! there were at least four or five man made trees there and everyone of them has a couple cuddling about or something. so imagine about 10 pairs of them right in front of your eyes.

when all of we three walked into there we are making quite some noise and all of them stopped and are staring at us by the time we noticed it. so we didnt really quite dare to walk further and dashed out of there.

after seeing how the rooftop terrace of such a "cultivated" and "cultured" place was, we started to crack lame jokes yet again. on our way down we saw more couples cuddling and going up to (of course) the terrace garden. you dont even need to guess it.

once we saw two guys taking the escalator up so we laughed and said even gays go to this "cultivated" and "cultured" place.

finally we reached first storey and walked in the direction of the coastline, where we saw this huge elephant hugging a lampost.

after some walking about, we managed to reach the front entrance of the esplanade and we saw some glowing blue balls floating on the water. again you can see the phone camera sucked at the night shots.

we went into the building again to take the lift to B1 where the Citylink Mall is. the lift is very "cultivated" and "cultured" as well. it moves damn slowly. it takes nearly 10 seconds to close the door properly (it moves like an ant when it is about to close), 5 seconds to activate its motor and another 10 seconds to go down ONE level.

initially I was shocked when it stopped in a mass of grey. I was in the state of shock for another 5 seconds for it to stop the motor before the doors opened to reveal level M (not sure what it stood for). apparently the grey part before the door actually slides open and close as well.

it is another 25 seconds before the lift reached B1. we got out and headed our way towards Citylink Mall. along the way we saw some people doing street dancing on the large platform that allows both the Dhoby Ghaut (NEL) MRT station people and Citylink Mall people to reach esplanade.

again we joked about the punk festival we cracked earlier when we are going to WCG on train as we saw more of them with strange hairdos heading towards that level as well.

oh and one last picture to honour our dear calvin yam.

on the way back means more lame jokes are cracked and more jokes about "cultivated" and "cultured" and cracked. as well as bahari's classic corny jokes. reached home at around 9.15pm.

guess that is all then.

A particular PG show on Channel U

there is this show that is running from 12am till 12.30am on Wednesday night or Thursday morning showing on Channel U rated PG.

the show title is Love Airways and is rated PG for suggestive (mature) themes. so go guess what the show might be about.

think that is the reason why their host sucks. no one wanna host such a corny show.

I think MediaCorp throw all their mature shows to night. such as Art Central's Stripperella on tuesday nights and their animania is actually showing some rather hentai old anime.

evil company. but I cant boycott them otherwise I can forget about watching tv. zzz.

2/3 EOY Chalet, 10th to 12th Nov 2005

Monday, November 14, 2005

After viewing the photos I took on the computer, quite a few of them turned out bad due to the dark conditions of the environment and/or because of my unstable hands. so I decided to leave them out till a later time when I have time to sort the pictures properly.

I shall also try to be brief with my various descriptions of the day so that the blog wouldnt be flooded with words (and because I cant really remember that much)

I shall also structure the entry so that you can read just the interesting parts.

since those who went Escape dont seem to have a blog, I shall write about it.

DAY 01, 10th November 2005

it is a fun time together on the first day with various events together. people were still rather enthusiastic since it is after all only the first day.

JE MRT Station

transport personnel pei fen mentioned arrival by 1.30pm. I arrived by around 1.20pm with zp, wei lei, mx, calvin and phyo around. josef and chong chiang and his gang arrived somewhat later. the girls came the latest.

by 2pm we are ready to leave but chong chiang and his gang is n0where to be seen. after waiting around 15 minutes, we decided to leave first and let them come by themselves later.

Trip to Costa Sands Resort (Pasir Ris)

and so begins the bloody long trip from one end of the EW line to the other. the trip is rather uneventful with phyo josef ck calvin and me chatting away on the route at one corner.

fast forward to EW1 Pasir Ris...

*PA System on train* Pasir Ris. This train is terminating at Pasir Ris. All passengers please alight. Thank you for travelling with SMRT.

transport personnel pei fen dont know how to get to the place. luckily we saw the 354 booth with a large sign reading DOWNTOWN EAST immediately when we exit.

turns out that bus stops right outside Downtown East [and we are staying in Costa Sands Resort (Pasir Ris) not Costa Sands Resort (Downtown East)] good thing a few of us knew that Pasir Ris resort is somewhere inside and we began the long trek through the outside road inside.

Arrival, unpacking and first impressions of chalet

arrived after walking for about 10 minutes. metinee is waving crazily at us from the main lobby. a few other girls who checked in early were there (pamela and jin yee is there also I think).

we were brought to the chalet we booked. B-09 is the number. those girls who arrived early made three guys do five push ups before opening the door (clever me ran to the back to turn off the power and make them open the door =D)

first impressions when I went was that is was amazingly dark and small for something so expensive. people who just arrived threw their bags upstairs. I am again impressed by the extremely low cooling capacity of the lousy airconditoner.

First program for the trip: Dare

after settling down, Dare commenced. everybody except pei fen adeline and shiva joined. it started from second storey to the first storey (more space).

photography is strictly restricted throughout the game so try to imagine the scene as I describe it to ya.

selection of winner and victims

the selection is done by giving out Uno cards to all participants. inside contains numbers 0 to 7. all numbers were in pairs except 0 and 7. cards are shuffled and given out. the person holding 0 chooses a number and decides the dare. the persons holding the particular number selected had to perform a dare.

phyo's makeup

there was one interesting dare involving phyo. he was forced to wear some eyeliner, eyeshadow and lipstick and go down and say I am beautiful. photography wasnt restricted at the beginning but I failed to take a good shot. xinyi is supposed to do something as well, but it is too mild so I am not sure.

toilet bowl kisser

metinee and yai hui got another dare. their dare requires them to put on lipstick and go kiss the toilet bowl. they both did it rather readily since all dares are about at that standard anyway.

will you marry me?

this one involves phyo and pam. phyo had to carry pam with one hand on her back and the other at her ankles (and the girl will sort of be like lying horiozontal supported by the guy's hands) then he had to spin her around and ask will you marry me?

basically that is it. but it took them a while to prepare as phyo lacked experience in carrying a girl this way (should have consulted chun kit but he isnt there).

toffee eating

the simplest of all dares, all you had to do is to take a toffee shaped chocolate thingamjig and take a bite each from it together and eat it up.

this is the only dare I got and it involves chong keng and me. nothing major considering the fact that neither of us are gay.

wei lei and metinee got the same dare. the devil in me wanted to push their heads together but I decided against it in case I get the same treatment.

grand finale

in the final round of the game, the dare is decided by all participants except the two victims. and rather luckily (or unfortunately), it is calvin and xinyi (why not phyo and metinee ah?).

it is grand finale what, so of course it must be the ya zhou performance. they have to put the tips of their noses together and lock their hands with each other. it was actually supposed to be lips on nose but we are feeling angelic.

so this wraps up the Dare segment

The Barbecue: Prelogue

the barbecue commenced at around 5+ when there was still a slight drizzle because we thought those people would be arriving soon (when they are not)

the rain made it difficult to barbecue. we shifted that pit everywhere and finally settled on the spot that would prevent rain from entering without dirtying the roof too much.

there were people smearing charcoal on each other faces and thinking it is very fun (hint: the two person squabbling all the time)

some even had to barbecue in the rain and get themselves all wet. who should be blame for all these? those who said they will come by 7+ but only arrived at 9+!

The Barbecue

eat lor. what you expect. the star program of the day is about the begin anyway. some people are downstairs watching Wang Zi Bian Qing Wa (or the froggy froggy show) while eating and some upstairs watching some lame video phyo created and left on his laptop.

Star Programme: The Waterfight Act I

This all began of one very simple reason which I not too sure. I think it is something about phyo and metinee having their usual squabbles and then met went to pour water on him.

then of course phyo took revenge. then met's sisters joined in, namely jin and pam. then they liddat pour of course make some other people wet. so more and more people joined in.

to get more people, anyone who walked outside got dunked as well. so basically everyone who came so far (chong chiang gang who arrived at 5+, general participants that arrived at 3+, organiers arriving at 2+) joined the game except yik yie and pei fen's gang and the choir gang arriving at 8+ as they dont wanna get wet.

some people open themselves to all attacks. others run like there is no tomorrow. chaos is everywhere while everybody is enjoying the entire time.

Star Programme: The Waterfight Act II

While waiting for the NCC guys to arrive. the people involved in the Act I planned what we could do to make them wet.

the plan was that we tell the NCC people to keep their stuff upstairs because there is someone whose stuff got stolen just now when we went out.

after they kept and came down. we start dunking them as well. and of course even the three NCC guys who havent ate joined the game also.

there is also guys carrying the girls around on their backs and stuff while they dunked each other. people who kept running away keep getting attacked as no one is allowed to be dry throughout both acts of the star programme.

costa sands will die seeing the water bill. haha.

The Waterfight: Aftermath

the waterfight finally reached its end at around 10pm or so. it is of course the time for cleanup. water is along the track out of the chalet and all around the outside of the chalet where the fight took place.

everyone also decided to take turns to bath before heading for the night walk. some were involved in the cleaning of the chalet. I ran upstairs. yes I am slacking =D

I didnt bath before going for the nightwalk because I know I would start sweating again that it makes no sense to bath.

Bathtime!

it is a long wait till everyone finishes bathing. so while we are upstairs, we decided to say ghost stories. unfortunately all the stories are not very scary and some were even lame.

we decided to watch advent children but it is rather boring. but all we could do is sit through that lame movie on phyo laptop. zz.

went to watch arts central. it is showing anime at that time. they sure show old stuff eh? but it is a great way to waste time.

ahsabi g-e-ru are bathing together in that small bathroom of the chalet. and wait, I am not inside (-.-")

you simply know they are inside from the amount of noise they make and all the shrieks and shrills and loud chatter.

one particularly funny transcript:

AG Member 1: I wanna niao niao! (slang for peeing in chinese)
AG Member 2: Wah lao we all here you cannot wait ah?
AG Member 1: Cannot! I control all day liao *hears pee sounds*
AG Member 3: Eh after you finish I wanna niao niao also!

they got many more funny conversations inside though. but better stop before people think I am some pervert peeping at them bath (the voices were very audible and I am not spying excuse me)

phyo is trying hard to imagine how the scene in the bathroom is like with four girls naked packed inside the bathroom trying to bathe and laughing at it.

phyo is so gonna hate me for saying that. dont tell anybody okay?

DAY 02, 11th November 2005

we only knew that Escape is open only on weekends after we planned everything out. so 11th that is supposed to be for Escape had to change plans.

Night Walk

After some interesting happenings during bathtime, we finally set off for night walk at around 1am or something.

when we first entered Pasir Ris Park, I am rather shocked by the amount of trees and how little lights there were to light up the entire place. and how big the park is.

however I did not feel scared. it is just rather dark thats all. I am more worried about our tour guides (calvin and phyo) failing to get us back since my sense of direction is bad with so many roads leading to everywhere.

the girls kept squealing at every single thing. like the puddle we stepped on. jin yee and metinee grabbed my hand or shoulders every once in a while for no reason whatsoever.

the trip is rather uneventful, with calvin, phyo and I leading the way and marking down important structures to get us back later (actually it is them doing all the work, I am just shining the torchlight and looking out for puddles or stuff and warn everyone)

we didnt walk far (at least compared to how far we cycled the next day). we stopped at the maze garden. phyo and calvin walked inside for 5 steps and came running out. sheesh.

and we went back to chalet. that wraps up this segment of the day.

Movie Screening: White Chicks

I watched this movie before so I went to have a bath while everyone watched. since everyone is sitting on the mattress watching the show I obviously cant sleep and forced to watch the thing again.

it finally ended at 4am. various of us went to sleep and some went to watch the sunrise of something.

Sleeping and waking up after that

Time spent sleeping greatly varies depending on where you are. I slept for only about 1 hour 45 minutes (I woke up at 5.45am -.-") thanks to alicia who made us wake up for no apparent reason.

to say the truth I didnt sleep for the rest of the day. all I did was close my eyes but I could never fall asleep. too hot and humid I guess.

Breakfast

after brushing teeth and wiped the face and squealing over some cockroach inside the toilet, the gang finally left the chalet for breakfast at around 7am. kornelius, chun kit and yai hui did not join us.

we walked over to Downtown East using the new route found (which is MUCH shorter). disappointed to see McDonalds Downtown East closed. thus we went over to foodfare (a foodcourt) and waited till it opens with some hot milo while phyo calvin and kornelius went to take the western breakfast set that is heavily overpriced.

McDonalds finally opened at 7.30am and mx and I rushed over. I am the first to enter after the shutters open =D

the breakfast is rather uneventful so I guess that is all.

Sleep (again)

after getting back, some people used the oppurtunity and started dozing off again. and so the entire place became extremely boring during the early morning until 11+ when the bicycle rental shop opens for business.

you see a few demonstration of various sleeping styles within a constrained environment (which I had shot and will put up later)

Bikes Rental

I failed to get my bike in the first round since there is a shortage of mountain bikes. we could have well went for full suspension bikes but I thought it is somewhat a waste of money.

so everyone cycled around while we watched Taxi (another show I watched before as well) till around 11.45am as instructed to get our bikes.

renting them for 24 hours costs $20 and you have to leave your EZ-Link card there.

we left to go look for the rest who are already cycling around Pasir Ris Park

Cycling Trip I

we found the gang and we cycled together and crossed the swampy bridge. we cycled rather quickly and stopped halfway as it seems it is going to rain. we all turned back and turned out it didnt rain.

therefore we stopped at the Pasir Ris Park playground. it is almost the same as the one you can find in West Coast Park, just that the facilities is somewhat older.

no, I didnt climb the web. dont ask.

there is this UFO lookalike thing that allows a few persons to sit on it and it turns in a 45 degrees angle so you will be floating one moment and back to earth another moment.

it is great fun spinning people around. but not when you are spun since there is no drive at all. too slow already lah. those people spinning not enough energy...

the last group of people arrived as well. heard that the chains of their bikes dropped off or something so they are delayed.

we also paused there for a while as the team of experts attempt to fix chong chiang's bike whose chain dropped off as well. took five person fifteen minutes to fix it. big problem.

and so we cycled back and got ready to leave for lunch.

when we got back, phyo And josef are ready to take their bikes. after getting the bike josef suggested having a race.

thus phyo josef calvin wei lei zp and I decided to have a race along the car park. josef won the competition but he totally lost control of the bike and CRASHED! his bike is badly damaged and so is he. he is scraped badly on the arms and the side.

Lunch

again we went downtown east for lunch. this time I ordered fish soup together with wei lei and zp who copied both of us.

however after going back to the seat. I thought I should have ordered the bak kut teh mx ordered instead.

relatively uneventful. casual chat only. I decided to go look for phyo and the gang and see how josef is doing. but they are nowhere to be seen. I decided to go back first and see if they are there but unfortunately there are not. so I waited till they finally came back. seemed they bought plasters and antiseptics to treat the wound from the watsons at downtown east.

sleep (yet again)

people were once again sleeping. I still cant fall asleep and I cannot even find a good spot to take a seat. so I am again very bored since no activities were scheduled.

Cycling Trip II

seeing that zhepeng also failed to sleep, we decided to go cycling together again. calvin joined us after hearing we are going to cycle.

we cycled much further and faster this time and so we managed to explore more places. we managed to cycle all the way to the other edge of the Pasir Ris Park as calvin is able to remember the routes well and we generally obeyed the signs and by cycling only on the cycling track.

I managed to have a good look of the entire park this time as it is much brighter than yesterday night. seems that Pasir Ris Park also only have one part of the park that have beaches that are suitable for activities (which is rather far from us). they are also in the process of upgrading Pasir Ris Park and so there are shops here and there along the route.

we got back by 6+ when we decided to teach mx how to cycle a 2-wheel bike at the car park a little bit (and the girls took over) and went back to the chalet to slack around with the rest.

Dinner

dinner is as stated before delivered. but they took canadian pizza this time since you buy one and get one free. phyo said the address is costa sands downtown east when it is costa sands pasir ris. so the poor deliveryman had to go two places.

many people managed to get only a slice of the pizza but I had two. teeheehee. not extremely filling but I gulped all the water which caused the flour to expand (in my stomach) so I feel full then. wahahahaha.

people were again doing nothing after eating and just walking around or watching television till the next program start.

Night Cycling Trip

this is the star programme for the second day. alicia calvin josef and chong chiang did not join us and they are playing lame games with the mahjong as not everyone in that group can play mahjong.

as calvin is unavailable, we had phyo as tour guide. he led us around a few places which I already went in the afternoon. but we somehow got lost as he dont know the way too well. so we went around in circles for a while before ending up at the same playground I went in the afternoon.

and so we played there again, since phyo joined us this time, he is trying to act hero and impress the girls as usual.

nothing much happened. so we decided to finish the route and stop by somewhere to get a drink. while waiting there chin tau and his group joined us. they claimed that they sprinted all the way here.

so the entire group finish the entire route together and went back. turns out we split at some point due to some bad directions. so with capable leaders (reuben and chin tau) we managed to speed back to the chalet without problems.

we arrived somewhere near the chalet and waited a while. but we still see no signs of them. so we went around looking for them a little further up but they are still nowhere to be seen. phyo decided to go further while shiva called the other group leader wei hao.

turns out they are going for another round. so I had to call phyo to get him back and we headed back to the chalet.

Lame games and Bathtime

we arrived back at the chalet with the four who didnt leave for the night cycling continuing their lame games. they are playing some lame games called consultation.

basically you ask a lame question (if this is a good combo calvin likes berny) and throw the three dices and see what happens.

they are also talking about "remants" of a person and they usually take the form of small little grains of particles lying around. so that may be another lame game I dont know of.

they also played Mahjong Stacko. they keep stacking the mahjong up until it falls and see who builds it the highest. another lame game.

josef also have to keep wiping the pus oozing out from his wounds caused by the bike accident earlier. he describes it as overflowing plasma with platets in them.

seeing that they are still not back, I decided to take a bath first. heck, even when I came out they are still not back also.

they finally came back after I played with the consultation as well.

after everyone came back some went to the toilet near the pool to bathe while others used the one in the chalet to prevent long queues.

DAY 03, 12th November 2005

this is a short day for those who did not go Escape as people started leaving at around 11am

Sleep

everyone slept rather early this night since bedtime is around 1.30am in average. we are told to wake up before 10am as we have to check out by then.

many managed to sleep quite a lot. considering the lot woke up by around 8am in average. I woke up by 7 though. the people sleeping on the mattress downstairs seem to be having a hard time.

they are either kicked down the mattress or got molested because of the close proximity. something really funny to watch.

the organisers only woke up at 8. shame shame.

Check Out

after cleaning up, everyone started to pack their backs and stuff all the things back into their bags and got ready to leave. time then was about 9+ nearly 10.

while some continued to check out we brought the bicycles back to check out and get the EZ-Link cards back.

before leaving, we shot a group photo. those who were there then that is.

Departure

we went seperate ways after checking out. some went to take bus to Pasir Ris MRT to go home. others went Downtown East to eat. among those that went Downtown East, some of them went to play LAN while the final few headed to ESCAPE Theme Park and pay those bloodsuckers $16.50 for unlimited rides.

this sums up the entire chalet. sure is a long entry isnt it? took me two days to finish writing (of course with pauses in between). I will write about ESCAPE in another entry since there is nothing much on that.

I have been brooding on this damn topic ever since I received the cursed piece of paper informing us of the need to make our choices of classes.

there is a moment of relief when I finally saw the postings to various classes before I realise I dont know more than half of my future class well. heck, I dont even know who the hell are some of them.

there are a select few whom I would avoid like there is no tomorrow, some I would rather not hang out with while others seemed rather nice to be with. what a mixed bag.

also, with 27 girls and 14 boys, it is the class with the worst boys to girls ratio, just like the class to class ratio.

with only FOUR (excluding the appealer) 2/3ers entering that 2/5-infested biochem class and one currently waiting for the results to the appeal to the 2/3-infested econs class, I cant help but feel very lonely for the coming two years ahead.

I really hope there is gonna be some shuffle of people around classes to balance the ratio of the students in every class. I wouldnt mind being in a mixed econs, biochem and phychem class provided I know enough people.

now that I let it out, I somewhat feel better. but still, 20th is the big day to see whether my wishes are going to come true.

Durex GSS 2005

well I am back from the chalet after 3 days. I will give more details about the stay later when I am free enough since such entries usually take around 2 hours to produce.

since I have nothing to do again, I surfed around hardwarezone forums and came across a thread discussing about the Durex GSS 2005.

Durex is the world's largest condom maker and of course their surveys must be sex related. thus, GSS 2005 stands for Global Sex Survey 2005.

I headed over to their website to take a look at the results. I finally found the reason to why singapore is facing the problems of aging population like Japan

Frequency of sex

http://www.durex.com/cm/gss2005Content.asp?intQid=778&intMenuOpen

Quote: Frequency of sex: Lovers in Japan are the least amorous, having sex just 45 times a year. Nations among the least sexually active include Singapore (73), India (75) and Indonesia (77)

73 times a year is the second last spot with japan taking the last at 45 (!)

this is another interesting one. the age people lose their virginity.

Age of first sex

http://www.durex.com/cm/gss2005Content.asp?intQid=941&intMenuOpen

singapore is the seventh latest at 18.4 years old. about three and a half more years to go before I reach national average then.

india is at a shocking 19.8 years old, taking the latest spot. iceland is earliest at 15.6 years old. they are probably generating heat to warm themselves up the natural way.

an interesting fact on the same page.

Quote: Young people continue to have sex at an earlier age than previous generations: while the 25-34s lost their virginity at 17.9, the 21-24 year olds were 17.5 and 16-20 year olds were just 16.3

another one before I wrap it up:

Age formal sex education should start

http://www.durex.com/cm/gss2005Content.asp?intQid=940&intMenuOpen

Quote: Two thirds (66%) believe the education process should begin before children enter their teenage years

I agree that it should start before teenage years. if it exceeds teenage years they will probably go look for more info themselves anyway.

singapore thinks the correct age is 12.7 years old. personally I think 11.5 or something might be better. chileans think it should start at 10.7 (may get them too overly curious) while india thinks it should be 13.9 (a bit too late to savage anything)

enough coverage about this. if you are interested go this website and take a look yourself. http://www.durex.com/cm/gss2005results.asp

Away from Civilisation...

Thursday, November 10, 2005

more like away from my home. anyway, I wont be home from 10th to 12th thanks to some class chalet. so you shouldnt see me online unless I surf from the internet kiosk there (which is supposed to be free) or when someone hacks into my account.

I will be taking lots and lots of pictures with my 6230 (I dont have a better camera unfortunately). in case I run out of juice, I got my charger along as well. charger loaning there starts from S$1 per hour =P

also, I did a deep analysis of the tentative sec 3 classes for next year. why did biochem become 3/5 huh? I can either go 3/3 or stay in 3/5. but then there are pros and cons for both classes, making my choice very difficult.

so yeah, see you soon.

Major Photoblog!

Friday, November 04, 2005

finally sorted my pictures and got them uploaded! presenting to you the current largest photolog of 42 pictures!

pictures are taken with a Nokia 6230 under Standard Photo mode and are in no way enhanced or edited.

lets start with my trip on 1st november. I actually took the pictures only when I am on my way back. but I will show the pictures in the correct order anyway.

To reach Sim Lim Square, alight at Bugis (EW12) Station.

Exit the station at exit A.

You know you took the correct exit when you see these various street hawkers selling their stuff...

...Past bugis village as well...

...Rochor Centre...

...Fu Lu Shou Complex...

...finally reaching Sim Lim Square.

I did not take anything inside Sim Lim Square since I said I took it in reverse. but I bought a DVD Writer and a 512MB stick of RAM costing S$160 altogether. pictures not clear enough so I did not include them.

I also went to Sim Lim Tower to look for splitters (but failed as most shops are closed on Deepavali)

these are some of the sights you will see on your way back...

some fishers trying their luck at the (rather smelly) Rochor Canal (SLS is on Rochor Canal Road remember?)

and on the escalator back to the station you can see this sign. it has been there since last year for your information.

fast forward to today, I went to Funan DigitaLife Mall (called Funan The IT Mall in the past) to hope to get splitters (but still failed) so I got my DVD+Rs/DVD+RWs there instead.

get off at City Hall MRT station to reach Funan DigitaLife Mall.

proced to exit B.

on my way there I happened to see someone that looked like xiaxue. not too sure whether it is her since she is wearing a cap. the phone is the same model and the hair looks familiar though. so well I am really not too sure.

but if it is true, she is really rather short, at the height of... somewhere between Jiahui and Pamela I suppose. never went to see whether she is wearing high heels or what.

did not take her picture in case I become famous overnight in her blog.

anyway turn left and you should see Funan DigitaLife Mall.

by the way, Funan DigitaLife Mall is...

=X

I proceeded to Challenger first, since that is where those HWZ guys mentioned.

that Challenger occupies the entire Level 6, the topmost level in the building. I had to go level after level on the escalator to reach there (sheesh).

halfway up I saw this new area on level 5.

it is just some area for lifestyle electronics. handphones, cameras, TVs and such. probably to match its new DigitaLife branding. just some lame small area so I dont see the point.

well because of that inbox5 thing...

one of the entrances to Challenger (used to be one on each side of the building) was closed. see the "No Entry. Upgrading in Progress" sign at the lower part?

and so I dragged myself to the other end of the building to...

...finally.

I took quite a few pictures in Challenger since the friendly salespeople dont care about it..

Challenger is not called a Superstore for nothing...see!

ink cartridges from Epson...

...to HP...

...to canon.

the canon picture is shaky because the salespeople were sitting at a desk facing those canon inks so I had to take it quickly.

other than inks, optical medias as well.

not to forget mouse and keyboards. you can test them too if you want.

speakers and laptops and desktops and even MP3 players. I did not take all of them as I am lazy.

they also have this portable hard drive I am looking out for. though this 40GB model is overpriced. (80GB at SLS is only 299 and they are selling 40GB at 219)

rich companies can get a section dedicated to them as well. Symantec and Microsoft for example.

and I bought 10 pieces of Imation i-Crystal DVD+R (S$9.90) and 3 pieces of Imation DVD+RW ($3.90 each) before leaving.

I also noticed lots of shops in SLS opened branches in Funan DigitaLife Mall as well.

Cybermind used to have 4 stores, now only 1 left. cant find Fuwell though I am quite positive they have a store there as well.

next I took the time wasting MRT back to Jurong East and finally had lunch at 2+pm. then I went to another building that is...

=X I swear they are taken at different places okay!

come let's guess where it is...

dont know?

still dont know?

travellators! those in Changi Airport! a big clue!

still dont know!? okay fine one last one...

if you still dont know go smack yourselves.

anyway the answer (you should know by now) is...

it is managed by CapitaLand rememeber? go see the right side of the lower pillar at the place where you get off with the shuttle bus if you dont believe!

that is all for this post. if you went this far, congratulations!

who wanna join me to National Library next next week (next week is busy with chalets and class postings)? if not anyone wanna go out? I am gonna be bored stiff again...
