school is starting again!
the 2 weeks break felt okay for me. personally I think I went out a little too often, but hey, there isnt really heck a lot of work compared to the "holidays" I used to get in secondary school, and I am still in holiday mood even after 8 weeks of supposed lesson time. so going out a little wont hurt methinks.
it didnt really feel short to me. I thought its just okay. I dont mean to say its a lot ma. but you should never get too much of a good thing lol.
because I went out that often, I only really started work on my holiday homework starting thursday or so. and surprisingly the spillover is not that bad. I only have MAEC cos I cant quite figure out aggregate expenditure and equilibrium output and the jap and POA test. tests naturally spills over for me cos I always revise again before the test. so yup.
of cos I didnt finish projects la. I dont think anyone did. at least I made good progress on LMS and BMGT. BLAW... we will talk about it haha.
much of week 11 will go to SYF marching contingent rehersals, as well as the actual SYF opening ceremony on friday evening. hope it is gonna be fun. after all its marching so it isnt very challenging once you get the basics. its the time you use up while at it.
luckily I have good classmates to help me with the lessons I am gonna miss. lol. speaking about my class, they are still not that bonded no doubt, but at least I know some of them now and are on speaking terms. good thing haha.
IAC starts on week 11 too. there is a part 1 presentation on week 12 wth. week 12 itself as well as its preceding preparation is gonna be hell. LMS, IAC and BLAW presentations due lol.
looks like a real busy month ahead before it ends with a bang yet again with the sem exams. the pace of teaching in poly is fast but surprisingly manageable.
in fact I find poly life as a whole enjoyable. there are plenty of places to hang out, I have a few dependable good friends, I have my dear to accompany me to and from school literally daily, all homework have a one week deadline, leaving my weekdays pretty okay despite reaching home late. and I still keep meeting old friends and once in a while we chat. so not so bad.
overall things may be hectic still, but there are many more avenues to chill a little to keep the heat down.
no idea why am I doing poly promotion lol. alrighty, should get some rest now. POA "graded assignment" during tutorial tomorrow and jap hiragana test too, provided I manage to beg IS to switch me to tomorrow (actually today as it is 12.20AM)'s lesson due to SYF.

the good bits of the holidays are running low. I am going to use the last few days to tie up the untied ends of the many assignments and projects.
actually I am only going to begin on some of the projects. since I am going to be away most of the time for SYF next week, I am slightly worried about the projects' progress...
anyway before I sink back into all that abovementioned stuff, a quick trip down memory lane for the past few days.
the last week was the week to relax as I went many many places. sometimes for a purpose, mostly just for fun. I remember going esplanade for BMGT project discussion that includes window shopping at marina square, PC Show and the Singapore Flyer just for Popeye which didnt taste as good on Thursday and yet another trip back to PC Show to get the Epson CX7300, which I will talk about in another post when I bother to take some photos.
this monday was training for SYF marching contingent. we learnt the most basic drills involving turning left, right, back, actual marching and marching on the spot as well as the 9 beats salute (whatever it is called). since I am not from uniformed groups it is kinda like a crash course for me.
the training was sweltering hot since it is at kismis and we continued into 2pm since we were behind time. every once in a while there is a water break and I would go chat with dear lol.
the thing ended at about 2 but the I/C faith hong didnt come till 2.30 and remained uncontactable before that, so we literally stoned at the void deck at one of the staff apartments for over half an hour.
then its dismissal and we went to funan to collect my notebook. but the lady there told me the LCD has arrived and they can change it by the next day (tuesday). so it is yet another wasted trip.
went for dinner somewhere but I forgot. blame my poor memory.
tuesday we went to library to study. it isnt very fruitful if I remember correctly. we were watching 命中注定我爱你 before we got chased out by the security guard since he claimed the library is only for research and not for gaming and videos, even if the only thing we are using are two spots near the pillar on the floor without power supply. k lo anything.
go mac instead to finish up the show and bought nuggets meal. yum? then collect notebook at funan again. yay no more scratched screen with dead pixel. I think we went home for dinner.
wednesday was movie outing with sheng siong friends. most people are on time except junwei. but his presence was already a miracle in itself so its alright.
we had breakfast at mac (again?) while waiting for junwei to finish his 满汉全席 at home and rush down. but apparently he spent the time waiting for his mum to buy breakfast which she forgot.
then go cinema and realised the 10.35 screening had started for over 10 minutes. we wasted another 15 debating whether to go in. junwei wants to watch kungfu panda. peifong dowan watch a movie that has started halfway, lihong has no money to travel to woodlands, yingkang and junwei finds it lame going down to woodlands for just a movie.... yay.
eventually we settled on the next slot at 1.50pm. in the meantime go NTUC walk walk, go watsons walk walk, then go Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao for lunch (or brunch for junwei).
ying kang and I share some la mian whose name I forgot immediately after my order. it is 605 on the menu though. it isnt too spicy or salty, so its alright I guess. it is quite a big bowl btw. the girls shared 2 bowls among the 3 of them while junwei took one huge 麻辣 one and he looks half-dead.
finally figured some way to split the 44.60 bill then go watch get smart lo.
it is one of the best comedies in a while. the story isnt lousy but still there is plenty of humour. everyone in the cinema kept laughing and laughing. I laughed till I felt pretty tired lol. its good, maybe a 4/5. it lost some points at the start as the fun only starts somewhere in the middle.
then sent dear to causeway point (wth) to meet her sec sch friends for another movie. she had a bad stomachache midway and went to the washroom but didnt come out for quite a while. I called and smsed her a few times. I swear I would have asked one of the ladies entering the washroom to check on her if she still didnt come out lol.
turns out its very bad constipation or something. and her stomach is still having some dull pain. so I was a little apprehensive when she still insisted on going for the movie. but its her choice la. then I take train home lo.
thursday was study day. we met at library and I did manage to clear some homework. did a bit of shopping to waste time, then she came my house for dinner lol. didnt expect her to say ok since I was just asking for fun. but there is plenty of food from the processions at home in the morning, it is good having another person help clear it haha.
and she ended up playing some private maple server on her laptop using my power and my internet access at my house after that. irony. and I sent her home. we left her laptop at the seats at the void deck of another block. she only called me a good 10 plus minutes after we left and I rushed back to check. luckily it was still there and luckily I havent boarded the 157 that had just arrived.
oh, this is what we bought..

matching slippers lol. we are looking for slippers with a strap behind anyway. and they are not that easy to find unless you want to spend more. and since John Little is having GSS, we bought it together haha.

I know my toes are a bit weird. I crack it too often I guess. or maybe its the small shoes I wore during primary school. lol.

Photolog - Selected 2006/2007 Collection
Sunday, June 08, 2008
the last time I posted a photolog was last year. back then I promised a new photolog "soon". apparently soon is taking on a whole new meaning. it is halfway through 2008 already.
to make up for the lack of interesting Inbox posts and Photologs as my commitments and landscapes in life increases and changes, I am going to do a huge 5-parter photolog in one shot since I am in the mood.
I still have a thousand over unsorted photos in my phone's DCIM folder. the next photolog will come when I have time to sort those out. till then, take your time with this one.
==
first of the series is on Changi Airport Terminal 3, taken when I went with ying sheng and nicholas last year just a few days after 'O' Levels on 21st November 2007.
at that time T3 was only open for viewing and needed final touches to be completed here and there. now it is fully operational for half a year already. shows how long I dragged this post.
that is why if it looks like parts of the building are still under construction or not ready in the photos, I can assure you they are already working now. I just visited again a few days ago lol.
personally it is the most detailed and most well-taken of the 5 series I just posted up. I also took my time with the captions compared to the few which are pretty self explanatory.
alright, off to the photos. you can click on any of them for a larger view. dont forget there are 4 more series after this.
==
next up on the old Commonwealth yearbooks I found on 13th November 2006.
it is so old I cannot even remember why did I come across it. but it must be in the school library during the sec 3 extended timetable curriculum time with a few of us.
so I took this chance to take some photos of my teachers who had taught me and are part of Commonwealth for quite some time...
==
and this is on a random day at the Jurong Regional Library on 21st April 2006.
the vintage of this is incredible. it was probably from my K750i. I simply included it here cos the photos were quite well-taken. they are taken by pamela back then if I am not wrong.
I look so weird that I decided to just take that photo with my face out. haha
==
this series is on the 6L'03 BBQ at East Coast Park on 17th June 2007.
another very random photolog that has blurred faces and smoke and stuff. probably meaningful only to those who were part of it, like the 2/3'05 outing one.
this was pretty special since it was like the first real outing we had ever since we graduated. and also because I helped in organising it and stuff.
here you go.
==
this final one will be on the 2/3'05 outing to Marina Bay on 19th May 2007.
to give you some perspective on how long it was, the steamboat we went to then had already closed down now. LOL.
the quality of this photolog isnt very good and can get random. I will add captions when required.
==
I will end the post with this photo.

the end of BLAW marks the end of common tests for the first term too!
BLAW was alright. it had better be considering the amount of effort I put in compared to many others. though I went kiasu on the LAC and quoted adams v lindsell together with hyde v wrench. would they deduct my marks for mentioning irrelevant (in a way) cases?
the sports hall as an exam venue wasnt that bad either. extra standing fans were planted everywhere to supplement those on the walls. it was a far cry from the time CSS let the current sec 4s (the batch before us) sit for MYE and EOY in the school hall and had problems finding beyond 6 extra fans.
then met wei lei outside library to pay him for the CSS official opening dinner tickets as well as to take my IC back. the guard at CSS gave us back the wrong IC and I didnt realise lol.
then met melissa and we stayed in library to finish 命中注定我爱你12 before going to IMM's Cafe Cartel for lunch.
it wasnt a really good idea since we went right smack in the middle of lunch hour. set lunches as well as pork ribs were not available. huge disappointment. especially the pork ribs part.
settled for the hawaiian pork chop. huge portion, but it is kind of overly salty. guess thats what the pineapples do on top of tenderizing the meat. but still you dont really feel like eating more of it after finishing those 3 pieces of them.
the claimed free flow of bread wasnt exactly flowing freely due to a disequilibrium between aggregate supply and demand, with the former being lower and the latter being greater. and Cafe Cartel did not follow the Law of Supply since greater production in this case would not yield higher prices. so there was no bread to refill from half the time. sorry, just had to say it.
even the taking of orders are patchy since there wasnt enough staff to go around. our food, as stated, took 30 minutes to arrive after they finally took our order chit. now you know where to avoid during lunchtime.
since it was nearly 3 by then, we decided to watch a movie instead of going bugis. kung fu panda screens only the next day (which is today la) so we chose accuracy of death at vivocity. I fired up the laptop and balanced it precariously on my palm while logging into Wireless@SG, hoping to book online, but I forgot my IB device. wasted my effort.
then rushed down to vivocity to buy them. and we spent about the next half an hour just slacking at the 3rd level of GV Vivocity's waiting area. then we walked around Giant, then Superdog, then IP Zone and we are about in time for the movie.
the story is slightly better than average, but because I blanked out in the middle and at the same time missed something important in the middle as well since I can see the similarity in the start and end but was unaccounted for in my memory.
unfortunately the movie ended late. it started at only 10pm anyway so its kinda expected. hailed a cab home for the second time for this term. it was even more expensive. lol.
tomorrow is for LMS discussion and for Kung Fu Panda. luckily I reserved the tickets today. at just 3+pm today all the good middle seats of GVmax in vivocity were gone. we had to suffice with corner seats even if they are on the back rows.
thanks for spending time with me =)

then met melissa and we stayed in library to finish 命中注定我爱你12 before going to IMM's Cafe Cartel for lunch.
it wasnt a really good idea since we went right smack in the middle of lunch hour. set lunches as well as pork ribs were not available. huge disappointment. especially the pork ribs part.
settled for the hawaiian pork chop. huge portion, but it is kind of overly salty. guess thats what the pineapples do on top of tenderizing the meat. but still you dont really feel like eating more of it after finishing those 3 pieces of them.
the claimed free flow of bread wasnt exactly flowing freely due to a disequilibrium between aggregate supply and demand, with the former being lower and the latter being greater. and Cafe Cartel did not follow the Law of Supply since greater production in this case would not yield higher prices. so there was no bread to refill from half the time. sorry, just had to say it.
even the taking of orders are patchy since there wasnt enough staff to go around. our food, as stated, took 30 minutes to arrive after they finally took our order chit. now you know where to avoid during lunchtime.
since it was nearly 3 by then, we decided to watch a movie instead of going bugis. kung fu panda screens only the next day (which is today la) so we chose accuracy of death at vivocity. I fired up the laptop and balanced it precariously on my palm while logging into Wireless@SG, hoping to book online, but I forgot my IB device. wasted my effort.
then rushed down to vivocity to buy them. and we spent about the next half an hour just slacking at the 3rd level of GV Vivocity's waiting area. then we walked around Giant, then Superdog, then IP Zone and we are about in time for the movie.
the story is slightly better than average, but because I blanked out in the middle and at the same time missed something important in the middle as well since I can see the similarity in the start and end but was unaccounted for in my memory.
unfortunately the movie ended late. it started at only 10pm anyway so its kinda expected. hailed a cab home for the second time for this term. it was even more expensive. lol.
tomorrow is for LMS discussion and for Kung Fu Panda. luckily I reserved the tickets today. at just 3+pm today all the good middle seats of GVmax in vivocity were gone. we had to suffice with corner seats even if they are on the back rows.
thanks for spending time with me =)

if you are reading this, check your email.
I know you are not gonna read that till probably 20 hours later. and even then you may fall asleep after the outing. and when you wake up I may well be at BLAW CT already.
I originally planned to post it here, but the more I wrote the more I think its inappropriate for the general audience lol. it will only be useful for goss.
it is not a happy matter though. but I do feel much better after saying it out.
I realised I have become much more emo man. I can see 3 Area 51 posts within the last few weeks. guess relationships makes your mood swing around more since it is influenced by your other half as well..

MAEC common test over. 20 True/False questions and 15 Multiple-choices (with 4 choices per question). 35 in total. and people were like suggesting 45 and 60 questions in total. phew.
there were quite a few questions that really stumped me. it seems as if a few of the options are acceptable. and I still cant quite figure out towards the end. crap. zz.
and 35 T/Fs and MCQs in 90 minutes is actually very devious. you will take about 30 minutes to finish the paper, 30 minutes starting to panic over those questions you are not too sure about while checking your paper and deciding to leave 30 minutes early since it is giving you a nervous breakdown.
I compared my answers with my classmates after the test and I dont think I will be doing exceptionally well. my aim is a B or B+. nothing less than that please. but even then I cant confirm it wont go lower. haiz.
then waited till wei lei's hydraulics paper ended (which I heard was quite the disaster) at about 10.30am then we went back commonwealth.
met oon yu, talked about stuff. met siok hwee and talked about stuff too. oh well, sadness of human life. conflicts, taunts and all. anyway, mx then came and we waited some more till hwee shi and derrick came and we went to join one of those station games in choir camp.
it involves plenty of pouring of water, so I dont really wanna join at first since I am wearing jeans, shoes and all. but I caved in after all that heat started to get to me.
and even at this time, which is like nearly two hours, the shirt still isnt dry =.=.
wanted to revise singapore legal system today but the choir camp busted that. so off to bathe. await the next update either the day before BLAW CT or the day after that, depending on how nervous I get. hah.

kind of lazy to continue onto the final part of Inflation of Macroecons right now (why is there a GDP Price Deflator AND a GNP Price Deflator? confusing.) so..
quickly linked up some of my current classmates and relinked some people. also shifted some blogs to the inactive section.
hope the macroecons test will not be too devious. I am the easily-tricked kind you see. zz. please go easy on me Mrs Ng Mun Kit.
shall go back to commonwealth tomorrow after the test with wei lei and mx for a visit that will hopefully include the testimonal and official opening dinner's tickets. as well as to see choir camp. haha.
good luck to all common test takers tomorrow as well! now its back to the books...
