since everyone is in exam mood now (I hope), might as well talk about something related to exams.
I am looking at the various levels' exam timetable posted online here.
3EXP

4EXP/5N

it seemed 4E/5N had it easy compared to 3E. while sec 4 and 5 takes one subject daily, the sec 3s will take two on some days, especially towards the back.
of course, sec 4 and 5 papers are longer and typically end only near noon (or later), but two papers on the same day makes things harder to prepare for doesnt it? like SS and History.
it seems this happens because of the SPA Skill 1 and 2 they will be taking, and since only one class can take the practical at once, an entire day would be taken up.
this happens on the next two mondays and next thursday. I wonder why they cant put combined humanities on 7th (monday) instead so the next week literally becomes SPA week for them.
the real scary part actually comes the week after actually, where they take two papers daily.
A Maths and econs on 8th (tue), E Maths (two papers) on 9th (wed), geography and chemistry on 10th (thu) and physics and chem on 11th (fri).
life must really suck for those in 3/5 this year (triple science). not only do they come back daily, they have two major papers for nearly each day from tuesday to friday.
one interesting thing to note is that though they take two papers daily, they still managed to end earlier than us on most days. zz.
==
actually I am now looking forward to the exams ending. then I can take a short break before preparing for the last mile before chinese O Levels on 28th May.
also can see everyone in class again and talk to them, not just in the exam hall and say good luck to each other.
and I SHOULD be getting my phone back as well, according to what abdullah told my mother. they better not pull stunt again.
my phone is also a camera and MP3 player and I will be pretty darn bored studying in school during holidays if I dont have it back.
..better not talk too much about exam being over first. there is still two more weeks to go. good luck everyone!

MYE2007 - English
haha this post came a day late. but then yesterday I wasted the entire day at derrick's house so...
the post will be set it today's context. so the Examnometer would be 13 days,
==
Examnometer: 13 days
Quakometer: 7.5
==
paper 1:
situational writing is easy stuff. a proposal as I expected. managed to make the points link and justified some points better than average. should be the same or slightly better than usual I suppose.
I did question one, which is on what aspects of school life you find most useful when you graduate. unless they had some hidden phrasing trick in the question, I should be okay too. wrote quite a lot of points since they said ASPECTS. I did mention the most important (friends) in the end just to play safe.
paper 2:
this paper is pure ownage. I am not too confident of some of the comprehension answers, like question 1. I have totally no idea which will in the passage will describe inextricable.
and I am not really sure what they want by "the writer's portrayal of Hindley" in the summary. most probably I did it wrongly. and I spent loads of time on it thanks to their draft.
because of that, I am kinda worried about looking at my english scores, which would definitely be penalised by the lousy summary. oh well.
==
I am now revising for social studies. I know my absorption rate is low and there is no way I can finish remember what I wanted in one day and since the school is so generous this time round I might as well start now.
will continue blogging in a Life post coming right up.

AH **** FINALLY ENCOUNTERED THAT IRRITATING ERROR SUBMITTING POST THING. NOW I GOTTA RETYPE.
==
Examnometer©: 15 days
Quakometer©: 8.0
==
Quakometer© replaces Seismograph because Seismograph is so unoriginal. for Quakometer©, the bigger the number, the easier the paper. it is more natural for me that way.
==
paper 1 letter:
huge mistake. did not notice they only want complaints about "stallholders and patrons of eating places" in the complaint letter to NEA about the ineffectiveness of the smoking ban. had to cancel out the bus stop one.
this means I only have one point left. it is long, but part of it talked more about some background knowledge I have about the issue.
hope to get at least 15/20, but chances are slim. zz.
==
paper 1 composition:
I did the newspaper report question since I am not too familiar with the other two. it is like the longest newspaper report essay I have written for a long long time.
originally meant for it to challenge ying sheng's crown of the King of Newspaper Reports. but the scheming king knew everyone would do that and did the question on teenagers littering instead. he still win after all. zz.
==
paper 2:
section A and B (综合填空, 理解测验) are quite difficult. everyone agrees with that. I can read most of the words, though I dont really know the meaning to some of them.
section C (理解问答) not that bad. I did a lot of copying and pasting, since most answer keys do that, making it the comprehension I wrote the most characters in.
==
english tomorrow. how to revise ah. I still cant bring myself to bring that functional writing notes down from the avalanche of worksheets I have. later.

before reading, you might want to take note there are very lousy jokes cracked and attempts to include my revision in various lines. this is all due to a very bored moment and realisation of a need to revise. dont mind them.

I reached home only about two hours ago thanks to the wait for someone very important... to someone else... for two continuous days already. I feel like a 50W Philips light bulb, the new kind that save power one, so can reduce global warming.
oh since I started on global warming, take a look at the huge "im" banner to the left. you may be wondering why people are dropping the "im" logo on their MSN nicks?
actually this is a charity initiative by Micro$oft to help a few major charities around the world. you can actually choose one and put their respective im logo in the nick.
this means that everytime you start a conversation in MSN, Micro$oft pays some moolah to that charity. very simple way of gaining karma, so I supported it.
maybe you should too. and erm, I sound like a Micro$oft spokesperson.
==
as for studies, I am alternating between slacking and worrying for exams at this moment. the fuhua chemistry MYE2006 is emitting repellents to prevent me from getting near it or risk having a strong acid (defined as anything that ionises in water to produce hydrogen atoms, H+, for the more chemically inclined) poured on me.
actually I tried the paper, but the questions are very difficult, for me at least. as you know chemistry is now my worst subject.
now that I think about it, I really wonder how can I force my chemistry standards to shoot high up and reach the stars within 6 months or so?
I have a very weak foundation. I get confused at very small and basic things, which makes doing questions difficult. I will need a really good revision partner to relearn all of these again.
but, most students are having problems with their own stuff too, so I do not want to bother them so much. teachers as well, since they have to cater to many others. and now I realised the scary fact that I am very much alone in this losing battle against chemistry.
I did have tuition, but it is grouped and mainly revision now, so asking questions about basics are kinda inappropriate.
where can I seek divine help? oh damn.
==
the neighbour two units away is toilet training their younger son. how do I know? they always whistle at this time (just after dinner) and it continues for as long as half an hour. would your facial muscles cramp if you twist your mouth into the shape of a doughnut for so long?
also, I am really glad I do not find myself having the urge to pee after hearing that. anyway, can anybody tell me why one associates peeing with whistling? what is the logic? it does sounds like a badly-recorded mosquitotone, but why link it to the final step of excretion? (which is defined as the release of metabolic waste products from the body, for the more biologically-inclined.)
back to topic. on some days, you hear claps and cheers. on others, you hear the kid crying "no, mummy!" incoherently while his mother attempts to murder the child, screaming like a woman whose first child just died. oh, the irony.
after writing this much, you should have realised there is no focus yet. actually I just wanted to say it is extremely irritating and that they should have kept the diapers on for another three more weeks, when my exams will end and you can whistle for all I care and I wont hear it anyway.
==
what drove me to write stuff like toilet training? I think the rather bad cough (thanks a lot, gail!) is affecting my mental stability. now I feel really random, but it is a waste of brain cells if I dont publish it. so yeah, whatever.

MYE Fever of 2007
Monday, April 23, 2007
after nearly 7 months, the tremors of major examinations could be felt once again, shaking the soil under my feet ever so slightly, making me nauseated.
the feeling of nauseation is exceptionally strong this time due to the gargantuan proportions of syllabus we had covered so far. all of sec 3 and sec 4 work covered so far will be tested.
this bodes ill, since I am the crammer type and cramming in so much may cause bloatedness, or even regurgitation before the exams even start, which is a waste of a lot of effort.
==
wah very chim hor? practise for english what. ok I shall tone down a bit.
might as well make a small note regarding my exam timetable here.
Thu - 26/4 - Mother Tongue
Paper 1 - 8am to 10am
Paper 2 - 10.30am to 12noon
Fri - 27/4 - English
Paper 1 - 8am to 9.45am
Paper 2 - 10.15am to 11.15am
Mon - 30/4 - Lessons as usual
Tue - 1/5 - Labour Day
Wed - 2/5 - Lessons as usual
Thu - 3/5 - Combined Humanities
Social Studies (Paper 1) - 8am to 9.30am
History (Paper 3) - 10.00am to 11.30am
Fri - 4/5 - Geography
Paper 1 - 8am to 9.15am
Paper 2 - 9.45am to 12noon
Mon - 7/5 - Additional Maths (N.A.)
Tue - 8/5 - Physics (N.A.)
Wed - 9/5 - Elementary Mathematics
Paper 1 - 8am to 10am
Paper 2 - 10.30am to 1pm
Thu - 10/5 - Chemistry
SPA Skill 3 - 8am to 9am
Paper 2 - 9.30am to 11.15am
Paper 1 - 11.45am to 12.45pm
Fri - 11/5 - Biology
SPA Skill 3 - 8am to 9am
Paper 2 - 9.30am to 11.15am
Paper 1 - 11.45am to 12.45pm
you should be able to see that this timetable is really loose for me. in fact, I have a short break after every 2 continuous papers except the last week where things end with 3 continuous papers, which should mean I have more time to revise.
but it may not be too true, considering there are lessons on monday and wednesday for the "humanities" week. combined humanities some more this time no more hints on which chapters to look at. geog too, only has rather brief hints. all these will make it much harder to study, must plan time properly.
==
other than the Examnometer© (new pattern. ExamNoMeter is damn ugly) , I shall try out another new gimmick. the Seismograph will measure how difficult I find the paper, 1 being dead simple and 10 being dead difficult, much like the richter scale.
this will aid recall in later years when I laugh at how stupid these names are and compare how well I fared as compared to my opinion of the paper.
of course, readers should take note that MYE and EOY series (and soon Prelim and O Levels) posts often are purely for personal record and you should skip it unless you want to know more about how I think about these papers.
with that, I can conclude this post since I have nothing about life to update at the moment. maybe tomorrow. hee.

I am feeling astonished right now because I just realised I can finally automatically log into Blogger.
HOLY CRAP I CANNOT BELIEVE IT FINALLY WORKED!
after ticking that stupid remember me box for umpteen times without having any strawberrish effect, I cant believe it miraculously worked now.
I could finally stop typing that stupid email address and password every time I feel like blogging!

long time since the last update I know. after completing it, I discovered the post to be quite a departure from my recent posts. maybe this is because my writing style is maturing like a foetus in his/her mother's womb! w00t!
you will also realise that not only can I improve my English, I can improve my Combined Humanities in this post too! killing two birds with one stone indeed.

consider this a little background knowledge to the sections below. it is kinda lengthy, I know.
I realised that I now know quite a few people much better. of course, I will not abuse this privilege and reveal everything to everyone.
after some mistakes in the past, I have discovered the importance of privacy. while I infringe on others on a regular basis, by permission or otherwise, if the person wanted me to keep things under wraps, I would do it, unlike in the past.
even if I make references to them, I make sure that not too much gets out. for example, the "SBQ" below. it is good blog material, at least for me, since I kind of envy that (oops).
a blog is like a diary and not just a place to release anger for me. so I like to record these things down so I can look back and reminiscence at old times.
however, I understand that blogs are publicly viewable (you can lock it easily nowadays, but I would not do that) and so I try to ensure the content can satisy the "general public", so I tend to throw in a bit of humour with bits of censorship here and there to ensure no important stuff leaks.
I know my humour may offend some people since it is usually laced with sarcasm. if you are genuinely offended, please do approach me directly and we could work things out.
what a huge OT. start another section for what I wanna say better.
==
as I said, I realised I know quite a few people better now. of course I am happy about that, and kind of grateful that they are willing to trust me so much.
unlike the past, I would not betray the trust. or to put it another way, I am trying hard to. bad habits die hard, but I am changing la. dont worry.
but then like what I said above, I usually include some unobvious triggers so I can remember them when I reread the posts later on.
knowing people a lot better is good though. this means they are more willing to share what they experienced with you, and vice versa for me also la. then you kind of become confidants, which is what I always hoped to have.
am really happy to have these friends. they make your time in school pass much faster, through boring lessons and long breaks. no, it is not only my partner in class, for those getting the wrong ideas.
==
after a super long and chim and kinda emo opening, lets move on to lighter things.
since we have reached the topic of gail (yes, my partner in class) by some random stroke of luck (or suayness), lets talk a bit about that too.
today, she asked me what would I say if a person came up to me and asked how is it sitting with her in class. my standard answer kind of pissed her off. sorry hor. ok la, I wont make that many references to it next time ok?
okay so now for the actual answer.
actually, I answered that question in a post on March 7th this year, after sitting with her for two weeks back then.
I said at that time "gail is friendlier than she looks, and sitting with her is actually more interesting than sitting with some guys. not to be of any offence, but its true that we have something to talk and laugh about once in a while."
if you ask me this question now, I will still agree with that, no doubt. except that I noticed how innocent she is to some things that are, ah, close to our bodies (pun intended).
I would also wholeheartedly agree that she is a really interesting person to sit with. it has been over two months and we still have quite a lot to talk about and she still dont fail to amuse me.
there is no boy and girl kind of love involved in this. it just happens that we click quite well with each other, or at least she can drop to my level to click with me (lol), and she is a particularly beautiful lady at the same time. I know some people would start gossiping about it, and so I shall banish these thoughts.
this would make a great memory for later years. oh yeah. gail, if you are reading this, look at me. *smiles* sorry, just too funny to miss. I swear I will not bring the smile up again.
==
ok, back to topic. this is an example of how I plan to archive some interesting events in life that not many have the privilege to know.
saw this few conversation on sms recently. of course you all wont know who are the ones involved. provided that person dont come expose himself/herself here. w00t.
-
-
-
*ooh la la*. gone after spring cleaning.
-
-
-
if there are any further concerns, people involved can get in touch with me and we can work towards a common ground in the resolution of this matter.
if a girl gave me hints like this and I like that girl, I would have jumped at the oppourtunity. miss it and you will really regret it later on.
==
this must be the longest post I had typed in a long time. hope it is enough to tide over some time, since I am feeling kinda lazy again after spending 1 1/2 hours on this.
you will also realise that not only can I improve my English, I can improve my Combined Humanities in this post too! killing two birds with one stone indeed.

since we have reached the topic of gail (yes, my partner in class) by some random stroke of luck (or suayness), lets talk a bit about that too.
today, she asked me what would I say if a person came up to me and asked how is it sitting with her in class. my standard answer kind of pissed her off. sorry hor. ok la, I wont make that many references to it next time ok?
okay so now for the actual answer.
actually, I answered that question in a post on March 7th this year, after sitting with her for two weeks back then.
I swear I will not bring the smile up again.

ok, back to topic. this is an example of how I plan to archive some interesting events in life that not many have the privilege to know.
saw this few conversation on sms recently. of course you all wont know who are the ones involved. provided that person dont come expose himself/herself here. w00t.

*ooh la la*. gone after spring cleaning.

if there are any further concerns, people involved can get in touch with me and we can work towards a common ground in the resolution of this matter.
if a girl gave me hints like this and I like that girl, I would have jumped at the oppourtunity. miss it and you will really regret it later on.

this must be the longest post I had typed in a long time. hope it is enough to tide over some time, since I am feeling kinda lazy again after spending 1 1/2 hours on this.
Draft
saw this few conversation on sms recently. it is on wei lei's phone with siok hwee.
I shall do this as an SBQ, so I can revise for my Combined Humanities at the same time.

Answer
Source A and B tell us that the boy and the girl are on very friendly and close terms with each other, exceeding that of normal platonic relationships. this can be seen from their friendly squabble in Source A, such as "...hehe. oi stop asking me about it la or I really angry already..." and "ok ok. you still angry over it ah? sorry la." and "...tomorrow want to go eat dinner together ..." in Source B.
They also tell us that both the boy and the girl knows that the boy likes the girl. This can be seen from "...on a very serious serious note, what made you like me(?) ... because you are very cute, blur and frank. hehe." in Source A and "tomorrow want to pei me go eat dinner after school" in Source B.
The message of the source is to express their mutual feelings to one another and is intended for each other's knowledge only and they are hoping that the other party will make the first move.

ok, mrs png, please mark this.

it is nearly a week since Adam Khoo's I Am Gifted, So Are You came and gone. I wont say it suck, but perhaps I am one whose subconsciousness isnt easily controlled by others (a quote from the course itself).
at first I wanted to do a 10000 word kind of super write up on how the entire experience was, especially the revealations. but after Danny talked about spoiling the experience for others, I thought I might as well leave it to you all who havent tried to have a go at it yourself. it should be rewarding, seeing how many cried.

K800 got confiscated today because some guy is calling someone and Janet Tay saw it. what is worse is it is like 6.45am only. talk about being suay.
dont want to talk too much about it. I am kind of missing my phone. I must admit I miss the 2GB MP3 Player cum 3.2MP camera more than the SMS function.
dont talk too much about it. hopefully can get it back tomorrow when my parents drop by for a friendly tea session. there will be a lot of talk about misdirected allegations, hypocritcism, moral uprightness, as well as the education ministry I am sure, just like nearly half a year ago.
though I am sure I would not involve the school management this time round. at least I HOPE they dont.

oh well, onto happier things.
there seems to be a really bad post-AKIAG-cold (Adam Khoo's I Am Gifted, So Are You), which seemed to have hit quite a few people across the level. not too sure why too, counting only my class, about 5 or 6 has been hit already, including me. some minor some more serious.
since that virus caused all that sneezing and the swelling of two of my nymph nodes, my parents dragged me to the General Practitioner I always go to since young. I am given a 10 days MC till next friday for being medically unfit for streneous activities.
this is so that the virus wont start spreading around my body due to the infected blood being pumped around the body at a faster rate because of the increased heartbeat.

teeheehee.
it is kinda expensive though. she is a good doctor after all. take note that I did NOT buy this. it is genuine. you are welcome to sit near me for a few days and catch the virus yourself.
