The First Post-V6 Entry!
Tuesday, September 27, 2005
since I havent updated for a full twelve days, thought it is time to do something about this blog before the exams..
before I forget all about it when I get lost in my jungle of thoughts below, I better mention that I (finally) got pei fen linked and anyone else wanna be linked can contact me.
also, I decided to remove the post about Josef's Birthday present after much thought. considering a picture of something by Durex isn't exactly very welcoming when you first enter a blog and it is removed upon request as well (actually I am asked to remove it 7 days ago =P)
finally I can unload all my thoughts =D
quite happy with the scores in a few pre-fye tests. because of how slack I am usually, I actually have to work pretty hard in order to do well in these tests. hope I will continue to have this motivation to cross the finishing point (end of year examinations) before falling sick or start playing (not to say I am not playing these days)
I also had my mathematics "common test" yesterday. the semicolons are because they have the same weightage as common tests in CAs but yet not officially annouced by the school. it is set by margaret loh if I am not wrong. it is generally okay but I forgot some facts on those polygons and ended up making wild guesses on the rules of that figure to help me solve it and some of them are correct =D
hope maths eoy exams will be of something in this "common test" standard to make up for my neglect on algebra earlier this year..
enough of tests. nowadays, what we usually do in school (especially english, chinese and mathematics) is practice papers, going through practice papers, more practice papers, more going through practice papers and even more practice papers and going through even more practice papers.
with the new english and chinese exam format, this is basically the only way to go now. mathematics has always been a case of practice makes perfect so I wont say anything about it.
life is thus pretty boring. but it is the final two weeks now. it is so close to the end. the end of year exam will be my final hope of achieving top 100 in level. but seeing how everybody worked so hard, I do not have much hope on achieving it.
and since it is almost time to have an overall year performance evaluation report (or simply that piece of paper you put into the report book at the end of the year), thought I might wanna show my targets for my performance of entire year.
English: B4 (got C6 in SA1 and B4 in CA2, must work quite hard already)
Chinese: A1 (must put in more effort as I got a B3 in CA2)
Mathematics: B4/C5 (never been my strong point)
Science: B3 (B4 at semester 1, hopefully can bring up some more)
History: A1/A2 (lots of memorising, hope can finish)
Literature: A2/B3 (not exactly very good at it)
CME: A (CME exam can pull up hopefully)
Music: B (no idea how she grades, never liked music anyway)
D&T: B4/C5 (stationery holder looks like crap, did badly for class test)
these are scores that had became reality (no more in semester 2)
Geography: A1 (miraculous score in mye)
Home Economics: B3 (damn sewing)
Art: A2 (quite high for a guy who dont like art nor had talent in it)
dont know can hit or not. they are pretty realistic and are created after considering my general performance. the most ambitious being maths. I really suck in it. some more next year got A and E Maths. yucks.
I will start doing my papers summary after my exam paper as per normal so that I would have something I could look back to next time after I reach maybe JC1. in fact, when I looked at what I wrote after my sec 1 papers last year, they seem just like yesterday...
shall sign off here. I am thinking of a way to shorten my posts without losing content. so enjoy my long winded entries till I find the secret to it =P

Welcome to dEsKOh91's Blog Version 6!

since I got some spare time today after finishing the chinese workbook in school, I decided to continue digging for a skin. since I am watching Bleach nowadays, I decided to find yet another skin on Bleach. and ta da!
well it is now completed. the skin despite being a little cramped, the picture was pretty nicely done, it is Ichigo, one of the leading characters of Bleach, by the way.
the music playing in the background is the current opening theme of Bleach, which happens to be the second one, called D-tecnolife by UVerworld.
remember to give some comments regarding the new skin!

Photolog
Thursday, September 08, 2005
finally sorted my pictures and got them uploaded! presenting to you the current largest photolog of 42 pictures!
pictures are taken with a Nokia 6230 under Standard Photo mode and are in no way enhanced or edited.
lets start with my trip on 1st november. I actually took the pictures only when I am on my way back. but I will show the pictures in the correct order anyway.
To reach Sim Lim Square, alight at Bugis (EW12) Station.

Exit the station at exit A.

You know you took the correct exit when you see these various street hawkers selling their stuff...

...Past bugis village as well...

...Rochor Centre...

...Fu Lu Shou Complex...

...finally reaching Sim Lim Square.

I did not take anything inside Sim Lim Square since I said I took it in reverse. but I bought a DVD Writer and a 512MB stick of RAM costing S$160 altogether. pictures not clear enough so I did not include them.
I also went to Sim Lim Tower to look for splitters (but failed as most shops are closed on Deepavali)

these are some of the sights you will see on your way back...
some fishers trying their luck at the (rather smelly) Rochor Canal (SLS is on Rochor Canal Road remember?)

and on the escalator back to the station you can see this sign. it has been there since last year for your information.

fast forward to today, I went to Funan DigitaLife Mall (called Funan The IT Mall in the past) to hope to get splitters (but still failed) so I got my DVD+Rs/DVD+RWs there instead.

get off at City Hall MRT station to reach Funan DigitaLife Mall.

proced to exit B.
on my way there I happened to see someone that looked like xiaxue. not too sure whether it is her since she is wearing a cap. the phone is the same model and the hair looks familiar though. so well I am really not too sure.
but if it is true, she is really rather short, at the height of... somewhere between Jiahui and Pamela I suppose. never went to see whether she is wearing high heels or what.
did not take her picture in case I become famous overnight in her blog.
anyway turn left and you should see Funan DigitaLife Mall.

by the way, Funan DigitaLife Mall is...

=X
I proceeded to Challenger first, since that is where those HWZ guys mentioned.
that Challenger occupies the entire Level 6, the topmost level in the building. I had to go level after level on the escalator to reach there (sheesh).
halfway up I saw this new area on level 5.

it is just some area for lifestyle electronics. handphones, cameras, TVs and such. probably to match its new DigitaLife branding. just some lame small area so I dont see the point.
well because of that inbox5 thing...

one of the entrances to Challenger (used to be one on each side of the building) was closed. see the "No Entry. Upgrading in Progress" sign at the lower part?
and so I dragged myself to the other end of the building to...

...finally.
I took quite a few pictures in Challenger since the friendly salespeople dont care about it..
Challenger is not called a Superstore for nothing...see!
ink cartridges from Epson...

...to HP...

...to canon.

the canon picture is shaky because the salespeople were sitting at a desk facing those canon inks so I had to take it quickly.
other than inks, optical medias as well.

not to forget mouse and keyboards. you can test them too if you want.

speakers and laptops and desktops and even MP3 players. I did not take all of them as I am lazy.
they also have this portable hard drive I am looking out for. though this 40GB model is overpriced. (80GB at SLS is only 299 and they are selling 40GB at 219)

rich companies can get a section dedicated to them as well. Symantec and Microsoft for example.

and I bought 10 pieces of Imation i-Crystal DVD+R (S$9.90) and 3 pieces of Imation DVD+RW ($3.90 each) before leaving.
I also noticed lots of shops in SLS opened branches in Funan DigitaLife Mall as well.

Cybermind used to have 4 stores, now only 1 left. cant find Fuwell though I am quite positive they have a store there as well.
next I took the time wasting MRT back to Jurong East and finally had lunch at 2+pm. then I went to another building that is...

=X I swear they are taken at different places okay!
come let's guess where it is...

dont know?

still dont know?

travellators! those in Changi Airport! a big clue!
still dont know!? okay fine one last one...

if you still dont know go smack yourselves.
anyway the answer (you should know by now) is...

it is managed by CapitaLand rememeber? go see the right side of the lower pillar at the place where you get off with the shuttle bus if you dont believe!
who wanna go National Library next next week? or is anyone going out? please tell me! I am gonna be bored stiff after the hustle and bustle of next week...

West Coast Park
well since today is quite a difference from another of my monotonous and boring life, I might as well write something about it =)
this day starts as a day with the Cybernauts EXE.COM meeting. since the meeting is held at Jurong Regional Library as usual at 12 noon (and starting only at around 12.30pm with some latecomers) I arrived at (surprise surprise!) 11.50am.
teresa being a newcomer to an EXE.COM meeting at Jurong Regional Library, came at almost the same time as me (who was early only because he had nothing better to do at home or it would have been 12.10pm).
peng tiong, chong keng and farhan came later before we commence the meeting. dinuraj the cute little dinosaur (coined by chong keng, or midget) is missing in action as he has to "go to a friend's house for tuition".
the meeting ended extremely early at 2pm because of some undisclosed reasons and thus difficulty in progressing. since it is so darned early, we decided to go somewhere and it turns out to be the McDonalds over at West Coast Park. peng tiong (or peng peng) left early because "his friend have to teach him maths".
so the four of us went there. the trip is filled with talking and more talking so I wont fill you in. finally we arrived. it is naturally quite large as it is the lone building built for McDonalds and McCafe itself anyways. after some eating and stuff somebody suggested we visit the playground near there.
they went straight to the darned spider web, which I cannot even go up as I am not exactly feeling well and is already extremely dizzy somewhere halfway through. should have a try in getting up to the checkpoint somewhere three quarters up there one day though to treat it as a personal challenge.
after some wasting of time at the spider web, we went to explore other parts of the playground. the playground isnt your average playground for kids, for it is quite physically demanding and takes skills to complete, such as the thingamajig which you practically hop onto and move your way to the other end and the obstacle course where you practically face things one after another that requires you to keep using the strength of your arms, legs, maintaining your balance and crawling through stuff.
I got scratched somewhere through the time but I am not too sure which part as I mentioned I am not exactly feeling very well anyway.
chong keng got a phone call from ridzwana that he is one of the four sec twos picked for the Outward Bound Camp over at Coney Islands. it also indirectly translates to skipping school for the entire of next week.
among the people going is phyo. since the exco features 7 girls and 1 more from those sec 2s going all being younger than him (he is 16 by the way) and judging by his recent posts on his blog, whats more being on an remote island, the Cybernauts EXE.COM agrees that the Student Council should have a straight jacket ready. err...back to topic.
it is some sort of survival camp so good luck to him. though from his MSN Messenger Display Name now I can infer that his parents refused to let him go. the person who wrote it, Chai Chong Keng, can be trusted because the event concerns himself directly and denying the truth does not bring any benefit. from contextual knowledge, I also knew that his parents were against the idea as mentioned earlier in the day... whoops, this is history, back to topic.
well all I want to say is best of luck persuading your parents though if you were to succeed, good luck again with the homework and studies you would have snowballed being absent for the entire week.
I may be changing the skin soon as well, this skin is getting increasingly boring by each passing day and since I have a recent fascination for bleach I shall see if I can find more blogskins for it.

Update

so I am updating!
yes term 3 holidays just began and I am slacking as usual even though exams are six weeks away. well results...
generally I improved compared to last year, especially on humanities. my chinese project dragged my chinese marks down while english improved thanks to the compo and magazine.
dont wanna talk about marks lah. end of year marks more exciting to say than this half filled progress report.
and since I am watching so many animes lately, I thought I ought to say something about it since I am so engrossed in watching them thanks to Peng Tiong (or Peng Peng) whom I kept getting anime series from.
the leading female characters in anime are usually very cute.
