Inspired by: http://forums.hardwarezone.com/showthread.php?t=1787825

this is just way too good to pass.

as law-abiding and loyal citizens, our parents pay taxes to the government yearly, the people who will maintain the peace and prosperity, as well as sustaining the growth of our glorious city-state island.

after watching the video below, I wonder if all these taxes are actually being put to good use. you have been warned. but proceed anyway or you cant really understand.

The original video is found at http://www.mda.gov.sg/wms.www/video.htm.

this is a true Media Development Authority production, a statutory board of the Singapore Government.

the people uhh... rapping are actually the Senior Management of MDA. I dont know what made them think of attempting this, but I assure everyone I am thinking about it as hard as I could at this moment and I would update this post once I actually find one.

another one is the one by Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA). I cannot confirm its authencity, but it seems more a spoof than a real advertisement for HKICPA.

they sounded better! more editing went into it? considering it is probably a few amateurs who did it, when you put this and the government-commissioned video above side-by-side, why does the one that isnt supposed to sound better sound better?

and they know the rule of earth. sex sells. they got their female employees to groove around suggestively, holding their blazers wide open with their hands while puffing up their chests. of course I dont expect the government to do that. just commenting.

here is to hoping your eyes and ears are still intact. I think I need my optrex.

P.S. I thought Ms Ling Pek Ling, Director of Media Policy in MDA, sounded the best, though Cassandra Tay, Director of Communications, looked better.

P.P.S ...I have no idea why am I commented on that video in the first place.

1st Summer Youth Olympic Games 2010

Singapore was among the 5 cities that are official candidate cities for the inaugural 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games. I analysed the Panel of Experts' Report with bated breath (you need Adobe Reader to view it btw)

we are second in terms of ranking (RUS got 7.5 to 8.5, SIN got 7.4 to 7.9). Moscow (capital of Russia) is first as they have a good Olympics Village plan and good sports facilities, which are heavily-weighed, even though we won or equaled them in nearly everything else.

I took a look at their candidate city website, took a look at their bid books, did a bit of research and decided that we should just give up and wait for the 2018 one (the 2014 Youth Olympic Games is for Winter).

they are so well-oiled in preparing the Olympics bid. they tried for 2012 Summer Olympics but failed, then they tried for 2014 Winter Olympics and were successful (Sochi 2014). and now they are trying for 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. with their experience, our chances are really threatened.

but we shouldnt give up hope till the end! we are given a chance to comment on the Report, so we could clarify anything we had left out. selection is also by postal vote, so things are not set in stone even if we are not the best.

honestly speaking, we are doing quite well for a first timer. we accomplished near the level (for Moscow) or even surpassed (for Kuala Lumpur, Guatamela City and Athens) the veterans. our education programme for the YOG was rated 8 to 10 in fact. if we continue like this, I am sure we can do it.

I am not paid by the SNOC to do this. I am merely discussing this in my capacity as a Singaporean and is intended to be informative. hope you all would give your blessings to Singapore in this bid that would put us on the world map too =)

Life

post O-Levels life is kinda empty, so you do empty things to occupy time.

most of it is on One Piece for me. now I finally reached alabasta at episode 91. I am watching so slowly because I end up sleeping every 10 episodes. maybe I should just stop watching from the bed...

I am also preparing for prom night. all the clothes stuff are kinda troublesome. shopping and fashion has never been an important part of me. you can read a lot about my first ever shopping trip with friends in mx and zp's blog.

and there are miscellaneous outings just for the fun of it, such as the one to changi airport terminal 3 tomorrow, and the trip on that 2km stretch of KPE, all the time making sure we dont become one of those 600 caught daily for speeding on it.

==

and so I shall go hunt for a job. I have even given up on the first one month of JC for plenty of moolah before my first year in polytechnic starts. woohoo.

oh, I did not choose polytechnic because I didnt have a choice. I am pretty sure I would have made it into a JC. maybe not RJC and NJC, but I believe SAJC and NYJC wouldnt be a problem. it is a matter of choice.

I am not trying to come across as arrogant, but I just hate condescending people who jumps into conclusions. especially some of my relatives whom I am not so close with. I dont blame them la, competition is inevitable in a large extended family.

so if anyone got good lobang (pay at least $3.50 la please) do ask me along if you need a companion to help you 壮胆 or something.

seriously considering switching over to SingNet (again). StarHub is having problems with overseas sites. it takes eons to buffer a video on veoh and youtube.

I must say surfing isnt very bad, contrary to popular belief. but veoh is going to become very important to me soon and so I have to prepare for this.

==

cant wait for prom night to come now wor. even though I am not prepared for it at all. lol. it is like the only time to see your batchmates (new term wor), especially girls, in striking costumes that you would probably never get to see again.

and I know some people (lol) will be going through a metamorphosis. somehow I believe this sentence will leave a few people puzzled, but remember what adam khoo said, being confused is good since it increases neuron connections and boosts brainpower! lol!

this is the first snippets of my post-O-Levels life. few more may come your way when the person slaving the keyboard here doesnt mind doing charity work again. though I think I will somehow finish the O Levels epilogue before that. tata.

"O" Levels 2007 - Epilogue

this is just a placeholder to tell you that this article is coming your way.

it will need plenty of time to prepare. need to sum up feelings and thoughts about papers as well as predictions about scores. some more must emo a bit. very challenging.

and writing this is not exactly high on the priority list because of the brain power and the need to do more important things at hand (e.g. going to gym to get ready for prom and buying clothes for prom).

so tata to this for now. keep your eyes peeled.
