SG ELECTION 06: Sian, PAP get 82 seats again

Sunday, May 07, 2006

if you are watching their special programme, you would have realised that results of all the polls had been released.

to sum things up:

PAP get 82 seats (Any MP you can think of would do)
WP gets 1 seat (Low Thia Khiang's Hougang with 62.74%)
SDA gets 1 seat (Chiam See Tong's Potong Pasir with 55.84%)
SDP gets none

total votes for PAP dropped from 75.3% in 2001 to 66.6% in 2006.

Aljunied GRC is won by the PAP team led by Foreign Minister George Yeo with a measely 56.08%. the lowest percentage win by PAP.

because WP got 43.92% of the votes in Aljunied, it is likely Sylvia Lim will become a Non-Constituency MP.

PAP's best win is at Sembawang GRC, the biggest GRC in Singapore with 172164 voters, led by Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan, with 76.70% of the votes.

I updated faster than Ying Sheng. Boo to Ying Sheng.
