I will try and send you home as often as I can okay?

its nearly a month since I last blogged! I didnt even realise the last post was the 500th one till now wth.

had been working since the second week of holidays or so. plan to end a week before holidays start again to get back into study mood.

to me, the holidays feel short since I work 8h shifts 6 days a week and the pay is only for a month or so. if you had been going out daily (and contributing to the unemployment rate. tsk.) 7 weeks is plenty of time. oh the irony.

I am working at KBOX Clementi Central. it is on the second storey of the building where the NTUC is. business is slow on weekday afternoons (seldom exceed 25% of capacity). in fact it is among the bottom 3 performing branches LOL.

I can ask the captain to give you a better price if you dont mind traveling down.

I was transferred to JE for a few hours last sunday. it does gets much more business. ironically, its the top 3. but their room condition is worse (even their staff agree) precisely because there is a lot of customers.

I dont know which is better. when business is slow (like Clementi), you have to go down and distribute flyers and woo customers. not cool. when business is good (like JE), you dont even get to catch your breath.

comparing Sheng Siong and KBOX, KBOX uses more of your mouth than your limbs. yes you still stand all day long and CCTVs continue to monitor you, but no more carrying and pushing heavy items and arranging them, and for that matter, clearing one whole pallet of rubbish and unblocking dirty drains.

over here I learn to greet and serve customers and handle their queries. I still need to clear junk, just not the smelly trash bags but the mess left behind by customers in the rooms.

it felt a lot less boring cos there is more to learn and they are more willing to let you try different things. there are standard service procedures and operating procedures which must be studied and understood since the higher ups will test you. sheng siong try not to learn you learn so much for some reason I do not know of.

after nearly three weeks, I have to admit I still have a nasty habit of forgetting one or two procedures here and there, but I am getting better and hope to do well enough to not disappoint those who trained me.

anyway that is that, the very matter keeping me busy for the past few weeks. I plan to convert to part time and work on weekends after this la. if not it felt a lot like I learnt this much for nothing.

on the self-select timetable side of things, hannah, jacqueline, wenyi, swee mun, hup song, junxiang and I planned to enter the same class. but then with so many people and so many different internet connections, it cant be possible.

after a frentic 12 minutes mix of virtual flurry of activities on MSN and nPal, hup song, junxiang and I entered TB31, hannah and jacqueline in TB32 and wenyi and swee mun TB30. TB31 and 32 have quite a few chances to meet. not too sure on TB30 side.

along the way someone refused to change class when we requested to. honestly I was very disappointed with that person's behaviour. but we wont be in the same class so its alright I guess?

I think I will keep the hubstation.

they gave it to me free (U.P. $188) and waived the installation and activation fees without contract and minimum monthly subscription when I signed up for the trial. its a waste to return it and incur all these costs again when I want it later.

since I like to watch factual documentries like mythbusters and super factories on discovery and national geographic. and can record and watch later if I am not free anyway.

and I will be working part-time, so I think nevermind loh.

so I took up the 3 basic groups which is their minimum. I chose education, chinese infotainment and chinese entertainment. I kinda took chinese entertainment just for Channel 56. if nothing on it attracts me within the next one month I shall swop it to english entertainment. at least got amazing race asia and the moment of truth.

have plenty of plans for the final week of holidays. celebrating one of KBOX's colleagues' birthday, going to pulau ubin and sentosa (again), a picnic with dear and hannah's birthday BBQ. looks like I wont be having a good rest.

talking about dear, she seems to be having quite a bit of moodswings recently. dont really wanna explain too much la, I will try to fulfill her wishes and I hope she will feel better soon.

I think I overcompensated for the lack of updates already right. I should be back to blogging slightly more regularly when school starts again.
