today marks the end of the final exams for the april 2008 semester. the speed at which this semester ended was spectacular, to say the least.

in this short 4 months I met and worked with some very nice people that made poly life less boring than it had to be. and I am really grateful for their company.

it is very unbelievable macroeconomics, business law, principles of accounting, DSS and business management are over just like that. results slips and self-select timetablings will come fast and furious mid september.

and I will start the next semester (hopefully with people I know) in a new slate with organisational behaviour in service excellence, IT in business, microeconomics, business statistics and business communication 1.

the modules really come and go in a flurry. in secondary school days you spend a good 2 years doing the same subjects. I cant decide which is better. poly style means it is less likely that you will forget the small details while O Level style lets you really know your stuff.

I had promised a post about my tutors and lecturers from.. April 2008 Semester's Week 1. OMFG IT WAS THAT LONG AGO. I had some candid photos of some of them which I will add in that post. probably can do it this weekend.

now for a quick recap on the business law and principles of accounting papers..

preparation for business law was kind of not here not there. I rummaged to and fro chapters on monday and tuesday and at many different places. hannah and I even resorted to whining about the subject together on MSN on tuesday evening in an attempt to let off steam.

and thus business law is by far the most buang subject for me this final exams lol. I studied the agency by various situations but they tested the duties instead. 12 marks gone. then they decided to test business ethics which I didnt really even look at. another 12 marks. hopefully the crap I impromptu up can at least get a teeny bit of marks.. LAC part was still okay though..

principles of accounting was kind of a disaster at the start. I didnt really study for it cos I met mel for a while on wednesday at library. then at home I also couldnt really find the mood to study already. I even fell asleep and woke up only at 5+ leading to a super mad rush to try and finish whatever I could.

luckily the more difficult parts didnt come out. though some of the adjusting entries really got me thinking. like the notes payable and depreciation. and I spent an awfully long time wondering why my cash reconcilation and cash at bank dont match. until I realised I am supposed to debit (not credit) the accounting error. I actually think I did okay enough, considering the amount of effort I put in for the subject..

alright I will wrap up the stuff about this semester if I still have any in my lecturers and tutors post..
