totally forgotten about this competition until I was reminded by bahari today that we are to meet at 1.30pm outside HOD room to board the shuttle bus.
after some confusion, we finally left at 1.45pm on a 45 seater with only 9 persons on it total. the trip is generally smooth.
their competition is held in some out of place lecture theatre. after that we had to run around the school and complete the problems before going to the next station by smsing the password to the system of theirs.
it is a competition organised by the Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of InfoComm Technology, a place I went quite a few times already to join competitions. while it involved smsing and some technology related questions, this competition is clearly a propaganda.
a propaganda to make you interested in NP School of ICT.
many of the questions are NP School of ICT related. you run around the exhibits of theirs to find the answer to their questions and make jigsaws of NP-related pictures.
you run around so much around them that you know that NP School of ICT are the best-funded among all schools of NP. it looks so much newer and modern compared to the rest of NP.
in addition, you know that NP School of ICT are actually Blocks 20, 22, 27, 31 and Convention Centre (Block 1). with Block 27 being the central one having most facilities gathered there.
the funniest thing is it is within the open house period of NP. so this clearly becomes a propaganda.
================
anyway, out of the two teams we sent, the other "senior" team got the second place. they are really fast, taking only about an hour plus to complete the entire 10 checkpoints.
of course, we cannot discredit the 5 secondary 1 and 2 "supporters", who are all very enthusiastic and helped to motivate us to move on and helped us with the checkpoints. without their help, the seniors team could not have won and neither could us be in the top 10. it is as if they are joining the competitons themselves!
that is all I have to comment for now, watch out for the prize presentation ceremony next monday.
